I always imagion if the community was like FFXI or Eve how better this game would be.  I enjoy World of Warcraft, but it would be great if everyone was nice and mature.  A dream...  But a mere dream...

well i think the expansion is a waste of time and money...its most of the reason why I stopped playing....its pointless and will screw up the game more.

The game is fine, and Wotlk is going to make it even better.

do people get mad when other mmo companies release expansions? i find it funny the things WOW gets ripped for when other companies do the same thing.

WoW "gets ripped" by its growing population of dissatisfied and disenchanted customers who are looking for any reason to bitch about the game.  Anouncing an expansion so close to the release of the previous one was guarrented to tick some of the boarderline annoyed players off.  I willing to bet that most of the current WoW detractors feel that with the multiple issues the game has at the momment (nothing to do at max level but raid, or play 10 arena games a week, or mindlessly grind rep to get into the heroic dungeons) the last thing the game needs is 10 more levels a new class and new content.  A vast majority of the current player base is not even done with Kara right now.

Blizzard cant win, if they don't announce an expansion ppl complain and when they do they complain, blizzard said that after TBC they plan an expansion every year. WotLK is not out tomorrow it wont be out until Q1/Q2 2008 thats 6+ months away so all these ppl bitching "omgz my gear I spent 60 hours a week to get" should not be worried.. but what they should do is get a job and.or a life.

Nope, because when TBC was announced I looked at what it was bringing to the game and decided that wasn't a road that I wanted to travel. (I now play EVE).  So this latest expansion is yet more of the same (with a few twists) and it will probably outsell TBC by a decent margin... and WOW will have 10 million subs.....

/sarcasmon Oh God, I know! I hate it when MMO developers decide to keep their game thriving by introducing new content, it's complete BS! I want the same old crap day in and day out FOREVA! /sarcasmoff

    Anyways...

Well the WoW community at large is known for their bitchiness anyways, just look at how many people ask for new servers and complain about how x class is OP. But as along time player of WoW, I don't really find much to complain about. Yeah, raiding does get to be boring after a while. And honestly, WoW is hardly a time-sink. Trust me if you think progressing in this game is slow...you need to broaden your horizons. It takes little time to get from start to Outland, as a casual player and even participating in probably WAY too many PvP matches. It took me maybe a month to go from 1 to 65 or somehere in there, and no time to get to 70.  Rep grinding for Heroics is still the killer. :P My guild and I essentially cleared Kara in about 2 or 3 weeks, and Gruul's went down pretty fast too.

Blizzard suffers from being the top dog of the MMORPG market anyways, their game is a monster hit so it makes a big target for people to sling tomatoes at. I don't envy them at all, with such a huge playerbase trying to strike that niche to make the maximum amount of players happy is damn near impossible. Introduce a new raid zone, or something of end-game..uh..ness...: They're catering tot he "hard-core" and neglecting the casuals. Create new PvP stuff (i.e.: Arena): "ZOMG! NAWT FARE!" only PvP can benefit now! Do something, nay, almost anythign in the "Old World": NO WAI! You need to focus on end-game content!

The expansion sounds decent enough, at least in theory. Nothing truly earthshattering though, but I've always enjoyed the leveling experience in WoW, so it's okay I guess.

What sucks about it is that I see little reason to go through the grinding nightmare of building up reputation, countless raids, doing heroics over and over etc., when we all know that it's basically a wasted effort since the gear will be replaced by lvl 80 anyway. Sure, it may help you level faster, but slow leveling has never been a problem in WoW.

What's the purpose then? Fun? Well, you can only do an instance so many times before it stops being fun and that threshold is often reached way before you get the loot that you want from it.

    Oh well.

those who complain that the gears they spend months to get will be useless when expansion come out should get a life. People arent suppose to play that hard and give up their life at the first place anyway...

one thing that does concern me about the expansion tho, is that the new contents will probably be create an another part of the world like TBC, and will push the players towards those new contents and leave the old ones dead....

It would be  ncie if they can just spread the new contents on the already existing world instead of making a portal to the outland like TBC.... it's a shame the beautiful world that is before TBC gets empty because everyone is in the new world...

I like how subscription numbers sell WoW. Most of the numbers are not from the engrish speaking world. They are from asian, and if you look into their MMOs, they pull some sick numbers in.

AND Britney spears, Justin Timberlake, American Idol winners, boy bands, generally pop music from the mid/late 90s now, have huge sales. Does that make them good artists? Willing to bet most of the groups/people in time frame will not get much radio play in 20 years, unlike what was popular from the 50s-80s, you know where music was made by real artists, not people who can sing and pay someone else to come up with poor lyrics while stealing 20year old music to use in the background.... opps sorry for the rant.

Now was is the point of posting that you hate wow? Complain to the community you probably didnt like...

Anyways didnt bother me any, I quit shortly after TBC, not because I had to get gear all over again or anything like that. Its because I liked the game pre-TBC, was promised alot of new and fun things, got very few of them, all the while dumbing the game down even more. I talked with a friend that plays wow a few days ago and found out about further nerfing of zones that where NOT hard to begin with, yay for boring easy mode...

Take the asian subs away "as if they don't count in some way" and your still left is ~3 million subs in EU/US

I thought "Fuck it" when I realized after a year that the game was bad, after the next year when the community I once knew and respected disappeared and turned into a bunch of "F*** you I won't roleplay I gotz t0 g3t my ep33n lewt lolz" morons THAT'S when I lost it and got myself flamed by the community, helped me leave easier but I've never met a bigger bunch of idiots, bullies, retards and trolls in my life, the game suffers because it encourages morons like that and it encourages them to clamor over loot that takes years to gain but is worthless in the long run.

I despise this game now, it was reasonably fun in the very first year it was released but the rest of it was crap.

Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.

    - Hi. My name is Tala and I am ex-wowplayer. I am not playing WoW over 4 months

    - We <3 U Tala :))

    - My life now is a lot more ..... aww bull%$%, my life still sux but I am not playing WoW and it makes me a bit less frustrated + I know what sleeping means. When i heard  about new xpansion i had only 1 thing in my mind. "Buahaha, finally I spit on it, who cares :)) "

I left all WoWish problems behind me ( community, community, community) and I am looking forward ^^. WAR, AoC, TCoS all sounds good to me and I hope these games wont be such retardpullers like WoW. I wish all WoW fans to stay with their beloved game and do not play any new games. I dont want see same bunch of tards in new universe ( hehe, dreams) or maybe these games will less focused on guild=raid=loot=cheating instead on personal progress of your avatar. We will see :) . Personally I love good company but it cant be only way of improving your char, it is nonsense. Yeye, pvp but pvpin in WoW sux like hell.  WoW was fun but only first 7 months was cool, later it was worst and worst, none xpansion can not change it. WoW is old, boring and new expansions can not change it. SSDD my dears, thats all.

The BC expansion was the final straw for me and I quit the game. Haven't played in a long time now and I am glad I quit WOW, what a nightmare that was.
