This has nothing to do with how good the game is or isn't gonna be. This poll is merely about the storyline/lore of the universes each game is in.
Warcraft is the universe of Azeroth while EQ2 is the universe of Norrath. I know many people probably don't know much about either unless you've played the previous games or read the books. This is merely asking for your opinion based on your thoughts about the universes the games each take place in.
I myself know a lot about both games' lore (although I know more about Warcraft's lore since I'm a little bit more interested in it). Which game has the best storyline backing it up and why do you think the lore of the game is/will be better than the other?

You fail to appreciate how tiresome the comparisons are.
Like I said, if you're sick of these comparisons, why post in them? Just ignore them if you don't like it.
Besides, all the other comparisons were about the games (graphics, gameplay, etc.) I'm just trying to do a poll based on people's previous experiences with the storyline and if they liked it or not.
How are people going to provide you opinions on the games' storylines when they are not released, and any Beta is in NDA?
I'm refering to the universe the games take place in.
EQ2 takes place 500 years after EQ1. WoW takes place 4 years after Warcraft 3 the Frozen Throne. If you played both of those game or read any of the books about the storylines, you'd have an opinion on it.
Do you like the traditional fantasy universe of Norath or do you like the grity and harsh fantasy steampunk universe of Warcraft?
It's a simple question and not hard to answer if you've played previous games taking place in these universes.
I don't know much about the EQ universe of Norrath, but the WC storyline is a very good one. Lots of memorable occasions, events and characters. Though i hear the EQ storyline is long and deep as well... i'd have to go with WoW.

I'm sorry but WoW WILL have the better storyline... The whole luclin thing is just a way of letting the makers of EQ invent more islands to make expansions for. Everquest has NEVER been known for a good story, complex world or any sort of interesting relationships between the races. If you ask most people in EQ they will say that no one likes the iksar, but they won't be able to tell you why, thats because no big deal is made out of it. Think of all the past drama that has been a key element in WoW, that is going to continue and blizzard already has the next 3 months of story planned out.
WoW by far has the better story.
By the way I tried to make a post about this topic earlier, but the mmorpg gaming community doesnt really care about the storyline. You should really look into Wish, their story plan is awesome, since I care a lot about storyline and stuff like that I am definately going to be checking that one out.
You have no idea what the story in EQ is and dont know what it will be like in EQ2 because what you said is tottaly wrong... Is the only thing u know about EQ2s story is that the moon blows up? Other things happen and if you played EQ they connect. Have you heard of Lucan De' Lar? I doubt it... if you havent you dont know the whole story... So dont come and say this crap you made up just to hype WoW... you said nothing about WoWs story... you obviously dont know what your talking about there either... All that past Drama happened in WoW but u didnt experience it like you would in EQ and thats why i choose EQ2.
Hmmm no story? It seemed you said the Iksar are hated and no one knows why?
From the Iksar Lore Books in Cabilis:
This is known as the Age of the Snake. The snake race known as Shissar, slithered upon Kunark. The Iksar had yet to unite. Our people had yet to learn the Black Arts and the ways of Fist and Tail. Divided, the Iksar were enslaved by the snakes. In the centuries before the Green, the Iksar were slaves of the Shissar. They ruled from the ancient city of Chelsith which rest deep within the land now known as The Overthere. From here would sprout much evil. The Iksar were tortured like Frogs and suffered at the hands of the Shissar. The Iksar who showed genius were to help the snakes in their dark rites. These few were the seeds of rebellion. The Iksar began to plot a revolt, but a greater force would strike first.
The Shissar were an arrogant race. The power bestowed by the gods was not enough. They made pacts with other gods and demigods. They found the rifts of time and space and used them to gather magic items once held by the guardians of the planes. The Shissar's disloyalty and blasphemous pride would bring the wrath of the gods upon them. No power could stop the force to come. A green cloud formed in the skies above Kunark. The could began to descend upon the land. From it's green core, the face of death began to form. It was of no god they knew of. It opened it's giant maw and spoke in tongues unknown. From the mouth of death rushed forth a green mist. The Shissar shaman began to cast spells in hopes of shielding their city and the necromancers began to assault the mist with great weapons. All were futile. The mist rushed forth. The first snakes to be swallowed by the mist had their scales and flesh rot and fall from their bones. Horrid screams of suffering could be heard from within the mist. A river of flesh and blood flowed. The Iksar stood and gazed upon the gristle that was once the Shissar. With the Green Death came the liberation of the Iksar.
The season is now 0 A.G, After Green.

The truth of the matter is that after the first month no one will really give a rats ass about the lore for either game. Oh, I'm sure there will be some hardcore rpers that can recite every bit of backstory by rote, but mostly it will go to waste, just like the tons of lore in Shadowbane that no one knows, or cares about.

They panic, so... just hold them down
I could live like this
I'm closing in; hate all around
I could be like this
Hearing them; them in my head
How can they be so sweet... sweet?
