Does DDO work with a dial-up connection?

I have a friend who wants to play MMos but only has dial-up. Would he be able to play this game (without it lagging like no tomorrow) with his dial-up connection?

While I don't know if DDO would work with dial-up I do know you probably could not use the voice chat which a lot of people in DDO use. Even if you don't speak some people do and being able to hear them is critical if someone is leading a quest.
The only games I played on dial-up that might still be dial-up friendly are Asheron's Call and Everquest. Good luck in your search!
