This morning I logged on to Vanguard to see if the server merge had made any difference. After 20 minutes I was back in my Raven running missions, enough said... However I must have seen one of the funniest quotes in gaming history before I logged off.
A new player (in region chat) asked if Vanguard was any good and that he just joined EVE Online and was trying to decide between them.
The first response was.
"Lets face it Eve is a dead game dude, Vanguard is the best mmo out there right now."
The irony is gobsmacking but was well worth laugh not to mention the next 10 posts all saying 'WTF?!"
Better still the guy tried to argue his way out...*sigh*
Pure quality and I am still chuckling...

Regarding context. It was like I said. A new player was asking how Vanguard was in the regional channel because he was looking at playing EVE or VG. The reason why it is funny is because the guy was serious! Ended up him trying to argue it out with about 20 players. Cried about how there was nothing to do in EVE etc.
"He plays a 70 Night Elf Hunter for crying out loud... his opinion is less important than Zimbabwe's canal systems."
Another EvE player who believes he somehow better then any 1 else due to the game he plays... and you wonder why EvE is not more popular.

I have to admit i nearly died laughing, eve players commenting on how bad Vangaurd Fan Boys are, before anyone says anything i dont like vangaurd but i also dont like eve, and yes i played both for longer than a month. No doubt the next comment will be EVE PLAYERS CAN TYPE. I feel like eminem at the end of 8 mile now.

Ummm the original comment was about the guy playing a hunter...not that he played WoW....Everyone knows hunters are useless.

Yes you should say "Im sorry i didnt read but my eve erection got in the way of me seeing the screen properly when reading your post"This is the reason eve has such a bad name, the game is fine, i didnt like it just because it wasnt my thing. I enjoy sci fi games and space games but eve wasnt fun for me so i left. Not saying its a bad game, what i am saying is the people who represent eve (the players) are some of worst Fan boys i have ever encounted. If you dont like eve you are suddenly some how beneath them. If you say anything bad about eve you are suddenly some hitler type of character and a religous war is declared. Eve the game is a ok game, Eve the community has some serious issues.

Seriously I wasn't bitching about how amazing EVE 'is' compared to all other games. I just found it ironic that someone was calling EVE Online 'a dead game' when there are 30,000 people playing on one server yet only 2 days ago Vanguard had to merge 4-5 servers so this kid actually had someone to talk to! Want to know a dead game? You are living it right now kid and its called Vanguard.
And yes I played Vanguard for 4 months and I am now miffed that I wasted my time. BTW If anyone wants a lvl 38 High Elf Sorceror let me know.

Having also played wow a lot, i'd say it is the Nightelf Hunter not WoW that drove him to the commentHunta Itam !

Really? well i never payed wow so i wouldnt know sounds.....weak as a funny quote i guess you need a limited imagination to be rolling on the floor with laughter after reading that [not that im accusing certian people with limited imagination]. Not saying the OP's quote was that funny either but it was better and made by a real person rather than a scripted NPC.
