ArchLord: "Ben X" Wins Awards

"Ben X" the Belgian film which features scenes from Archlord has won several awards at the Montreal Film Festival, including the Public Award for the most popular film of the Festival.

Ben X has scooped 3 top prizes at the Montreal Film Festival

Ben X, produced by Belgian Film studio MMG, has taken three top prizes at the Montreal International Film festival. This Dutch language film managed to secure nominations in seven categories including Best Film of Show category.

It went on to win:

Grand Prix of the Americas: (Best Film of Show category)

BEN X by Nic Balthazar (Belgium / Netherlands) along side A SECRET by Claude Miller (France)

PUBLIC AWARDS (The public was invited to vote for the most popular films among the feature films presented during the 2007 Montreal World Film Festival.)

    Its archlord but Wow! It looks fantastic. Its about a boy who finds refuge and bonds with his online character to the point of obsession and he seems to lose all reality. But it looks like an awesome movie and its actually being done with a commercial game. I honestly can't wait to see this. Mind you I wish it wasn't archlord considering I've heard the game is just a grind game that failed and had to go from P2P to FtP and I never did evne try to play it.

    Looks to be a fantastic movie, maybe the Donnie Darko equivilant for Europe.

    Looks like they also used in-game footage of Archlord well... which is refreshing.

    Wow, very nice and interesting movie indeed...I think I would have voted for it as well...very well thought up and made...

    On a side note, if some of you are motivated to play this game because of the movie, just make sure you have lots of time to spend...I enjoyed it for quite a while, its a so-so pvp game...but when it comes down to it, the casters and archers will always win..great game to try because its free and it is better than some f2p games!

    I want to see it. One scene in the trailer, there's blood on his knife in RL, which reminded me of that old Tom Hanks movie Mazes and Monsters. "There's blood on my knife, I think I killed someone!"

    I'll be happy if  this movie treats the subject  with more empathy than M&M. Though mental illness is not Aspergers, certainly.

    Archlord is a visually stunning game- the art is beautiful.  The graphics are lovely.  I can see why they would include game footage in their film.  It def holds up :) IMO this small game is much more complex detail wise than some of the big bucks boxes.  I'll grant that the game is a whole lotta grind but visually...I love it.
