If you sign up for the Euro beta and live in the US, they'll throw out the application because it's invalid.

You MUST live in Europe to particapate in the Euro beta hence the name "Euro".

Yeah, you have to live there, but I am sure you can count on some people trying to fake addresses and such to register.  I wonder if they have any actual way of catching that since all of the beta correspondence is handled through email.

I think Blizzard has an IP checker both when you apply and when you try and play... atleast that's what I heard.

I'm not 100% sure though. Europeans tried to do the same thing with American Beta sign ups but it didn't work for them just like how it's not gonna work for Americans signing up for Euro Beta.

You know what I say though... If you do something without getting cought your home free, but if you get cought be better be willing to pay the price. With your life!!!!!!!!!! I read the requirements and it said nothing of having to live in Europe, just had to speak French, German, or English and meet the min sys requirements.  I've seen Europeans in the beta forums talking about their servers coming up.  I think it would be fair for us to test out their servers too.  What's the harm in applying?  Just let 'em know you live in the USA.  What they gonna do call you "Yank?"

You'd think the fact the beta is called "European WoW beta"... people would assume that it's European only yet why do people think they can get in if they live in the US?

Fine go ahead and sign up but you'll be disqualified as soon as you do...

Nope stricktly cofedential, jk... I think you can enter, but when they take your system spec's, they will find out that you are from the US. Bad news, but hey I'm fine for waiting for another month or 2 for the finished product::::28::.

i wanted to know because i tried to sign up and it let me. all it said was that i had to be german, french, or english speaking. would they do anything drastic if you live in america and signed up for the euro beta?? like send an assassin to kill you perhaps??

  • slauterslauter Member Posts: 18

The following message is not what I did or am planning to do because of fairness:

Actually there are many Europeans in the NA beta. My friend has beta and its true. How you ask? very simple, a proxy server. A proxy server can be set up by your relative/friend in europe. THEN you can conect to this proxy server and it will make it look like your ip is European based.

Now you ask HOW to set up a proxy server? Well that I will not tell you because welll.......I dun want anyone else to cheat into the system (hey if I dun get to do it, no one does)

lol try waiting 4 months or maybe even longer but ooo well as long as no stupid unbalances and no obivous bugs take another year......they better not though

Yep doesnt say you HAVE to be in europe to sign up for it! Cuz later on theyll allow the countries that arent in europe participate... Hell I know euros who play on US servers so why not allow US on euro servers... Besides I know alot of euros will be playing on the US servers anyways just like they did in SWG.

I signed up and live in the US. It says 'Anyone who lives in Europe is welcome to apply and you must speak French, German, or English.'

Therefore, since I do speak English, and know a bit of French and German, I felt like I was eligible to sign up. If they throw it out, then so be it.

Ya i got into the euro beta too, but im not sure they will lets us play. If there is a way there is a will.
I dont suggest cheating, but in a way its not really cheating, im just giving WOW a hand::::28::.

That would be because there are no swg euro servers.

And about getting on euro beta you can singn up if you enter a european address. or you could ask someone who lives in europe to sign up for you. I'm pretty sure that you can login from anywhere.

At the Blizzard HP you can find:
Applicants must speak French, German or English. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Minors over the age of 13 must have their parent or guardian register on their behalf.
Everyone in Europe is invited to apply, regardless of country, as long as the applicant is English, French or German speaking.

So where is the question? You have to life in Europa!

Useing the program that you download to take your system specs has nothing to do with where you live. It would be pretty pointless to trace IPs since there are a few ways to get around it.
