Final Fantasy XI

So hello guys im in search of a new mmo. I recently saw a FF11 review from gametrailers and i was just stunned how beautifull this game looks. And it even has a story...but my only concern is if there are enough ppl playing it so that finding parties etc wont be that hard. Oh and since school started i will have about 4h a day to play it, so another question is, is 4h a day enough time to get anywhere ? Ty for your help.

    Only 4hrs? forget about it.

Alot of people still do play.. hmm .. not so sure 4h a day is enough to level up in the later levels though, or even in the starter levels. In order to really progress in this game you have to know people, and its really hard to find those good friends.

There are plenty of people playing, you should look around and find out which server has the most NA players at this time. I haven't played in awhile. Four hours a day might not be enough, because finding a party in the later lvls can take 4hours some times. The game is very group oriented, you can't get anywhere without a group past lvl 10 or so, unless your twinked and have good food. The only class that can solo very well is the beastmaster, but even that is slow compared to groups.

If you like the game though I say go for it, it will take a long time to reach max level with your play secheduale but it will be one heck of a ride. I loved the story line and the missions. The key quest and and your Artifact Armor can be a pain though, still good times.

Yeah, this game takes the concept of timesinks to an extreme.  Four hours just isn't enough time to accomplish anything.

Hey there. I'm going to be subbing to FFXI again in a couple of days (hopefully), and i'll be on a similar time frame as you. Maybe this is a good chance to become friends

FFXI isn't about powering your way to the max level imo. It's about grouping, friendships, and the storylines, which are very fun and immersive.

    2 requirement for this game

    1. You must learn to research the web for every information possible before you act

    2. Make alot friends.

The leveling is extremely fast, at level 70. It take me 3 hour of FIGHTING to reach 1 full level. But seeking is another story, however, it doesn't take more then 30 min to make a group, of course you HAVE TO BE ACTIVELY making groups. If you aren't leadership type people, this game isn't for you.

I have met people that seek for 10 hour.....when there was 3 nin,3pld,  5 rdm and 1 brd Seeking among with like 20 DD...

Of course, i would call those people "idiots"

    none

I played on those japanse servers back then i was in a dutch clan and my friends already where lvl75 so i said ok i gonne play it and look how it is i already knew about no pvp but becouse they ask me to come and play i gave it a try.

I did not even attemp to craft i was first trying to lvl but already hated the slow bloody combat man it sucks in ffxi(you hit then next one and the next one man this was a nightmare killing mobs like that and slow omg it is slow in that game), i never got into game started already on wrong foot:P

So when they where beating some big boss that they camp for day or days spawn rate of those bosses was low i think compete with japanse to get the boss mostly they lose back then janpanse where almost imposible to beat:P

I  was alone trying figure this game out and grinding my lvls my experience was just that i was in some area clans mate escort me there stand by some point that was a meeting point for partys and when finish i logged out there and when login day after nobody there and this happen to more peeps i know of i quit game.

If you final fantasy fan and like slowcombat go play it!

Ballista is one of the forms of PVP in FFXI.

It's a scheduled PVP tournament pitting nations against each other in certain zone's of the game.

Well then search for all my comments what i want in a mmo lol, then you see im far from instant rewards, its just i dont like how FFXI is style combat and more but mostly becouse no pvp.

I want a far more complex game and far more harsh enviroment then final fantasy(carebear)XI.

There is a difference in not enjoying their PvP and not having PvP. You kept saying there was none, when there is, not that you were high enough level to participate anyway.

Yeah, Square added a lot of higher level leveling areas over the years and have also made the game more accessible for all types of burn parties (TP burn, mana-burn etc). You could actually get two levels in about three hours at 70 with a proper burn party leveling in the proper area.
