WoW Beta and EBay

I was messing around on E-bay looking at cars and for shits and giggles decided to type in World of Warcraft in the search box..ROFL.

A list of auctions popped up for WoW Beta accounts and I could not stop laughing...anyway..

Point being: Why the hell would you sell or try to sell your WoW Beta account (other than for small cash)which- /sarcasm on -is far superior than EQ2??? /sarcasm off.

I mean cmon..Is Beta THAT bad that you dont want to keep playing and testing? LOL

That tends to show the community what great a game it is *cough* (And thats not from a money point) because we know beta accounts will be wiped (Blizzard standard) which means Ebayers (Beta Holders) are trying to make a buck and realize there are alot of individuals(Suckers) out there that WILL pay for a chance to Beta test WoW and since they are stuck with the account and eventually get to the point where they are bored and must sell (WoW is Huge and cant be completed in its current Beta format) there is only the option to post their WoW Beta accounts on Ebay hoping some fool will make them some Money and relieve them of the continued testing of a GREAT *cough* Game in which they spent countless hours Testing only to get maybe 5% thru (Time to Beta start to Time of Ebay start date for Account sale) the games socalled Awesome content (80% Questing, 10% fighting, 5% Cartoons, 5% Exp in the MMORPG Industry)

So in conclusion...You testers are telling me WoW sucks and I already know that.
I did however own the Diablo series and still do and I have no doubt that Blizzard excels in that area of gaming knowledge, but when you are a NEWBIE in the MMORPG industry, then all should remain silent until proof and facts are given.

So to translate this to the ones who dont understand the concept and only understand "L33t" language on these boreds: "EQ2(5 yrs of MMORPG exp) WILL rock WoW into Oblivion until proven otherwise!

I did play EQ since Beta Phase 3 and did play Diablo and Diablo2 from start to finish, but I must say until you come into a new era with NO Exp whatsoever in the genre and show us that you can do what all the Hype is about (Insert all the Stupid hypes from Idiots on the Game boards here)...STFU!

    Think of it this way... Sell your beta account for $500 dollars then go buy another Beta account for maybe $200 dollars and viola... $300 in profit.

    Well there r ppl who post for the closed beta that dont even have system specs. They do it just to sell it to the other WoW fanatics that didnt enter. Ive heard from a friend that he saw an acc go for 200 dollars. Now, that seems kinda GOOD for me!

    Are you trying to make the point that because people are selling betas (or scamming) on ebay that the game must not be good?

    I don't think the fact that people are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a character wiping beta is a good argument that the game isn't good LOL.

    There have also been cases where beta accounts sold for $1000 (in the very beginning of Beta)...

    The demand for the Betas on ebay will probably go down as Blizzard opens the Beta up more and allows more people to have a chance to enter.

    I think selling WoW accounts on Ebay is ridiculous... ppl will pay 500 -1000 dollars on a beta test that will inevitably last only 2 months or so....

    I do not think WoW will suck as some ppl do in fact i am looking forward to the game but is it really reasonable to spend all that money on a game that isnt even finished... (and when it is actually perfected it will cost less!)

    not to mention there is no guarantee that those ppl on Ebay are scammers... because all Accounts that are sold are against the beta test rules and will be frozen...

    You are absolutely correct, its both silly and stupid to buy beta accounts on ebay, especially when there will be an open beta test. But I guess theres plenty of people out there with lots of cash and little brains, and an overwhelming need to play an unfinished game. ::::12::

    Yes you are right, we should wait till proof or facts are given.  Right now, this ebay fiasco is not proof and facts of anything except human stupidity. image I am 100% sure that if EQ had a large public beta going right now, there would be a lot of accounts on ebay too.  You can interpret what the selling of these accounts means, but that is all opinion.  Wait until the games are released to reach any definitive conclusions.

    I just went to Ebay to look for myself. There are SEVERAL auctions up. The top selling for $355 !

    Completely agree! Why to spend $500 for a beta when you can buy the final game for $50 or so!

    Did you know that they reset your account everytime new beta phase starts? and thats good couse many people would be already level 50 by now.

    Blizzard checks your IP root and if it changes they will ban your account.
