Using a gamecontroller in world of warcraft?

in World of Warcraft

hello

          I was wondering is their a way to use a game controller to play world of warcraft? I have a ps2 controller and a adapter but i cant get my computer to reconize it. Would a pc gaming controller work? Is their any other gaming controller that may work?

    I saw a video on youtube where a guy used a wii controller on WoW.

    You can get many different input devices to work. The huge question being, why would you?

    a game controller is just more comfortable in my opion....  would a pc game controller work?

    I key mapped like 25 skills to a microsoft controller but I had to use tab targeting if I just used the controller. That was awhile ago now, haven't  played WoW in like 6 months so who knows.

    you can, but it would make you terrible at PVP. a control doesn't compare to a keyboard+mouse.

    I always wanted to try this. I'm playing Ryzom right now and I don't see how it would work for that game. WoW would have some issues though. You only have 16 buttons on a PS2 Controller and that doesn't nearly cover all of the functions that you would want to use. You could probab;ly get away with it as a LL Mage, Priest, warrior, or even a rogue, but forget about trying it with a shammy (my fav), pally, lock, or hunter.

    Definitely not worth the trouble.  Using the mouse to move (not point and click) is much better in WoW.  Also when you map the WASD to the D-Pad it's not as accurate (at least on my controller).

    it cant be done, if u claim it can be then u honestly arnt very good at wow, there are far too many skills to press/click
