I've been without an MMO for a while and some of that has to do with the fact there aren't any real great MMO's out there right now imo but most of it has to do with time restraints and how gaming will affect my school/study time. So to sum it up, I'm looking for a casual MMO and I did purchase Vanguard at launch and played through the open beta. Aside from the technical problems, I did enjoy my time but unsubscribed after the first month. With the server merge and all the new updates and stuff is it worth my time and money to go back? Has it gotten anymore casual friendly at all? Thanks!
BTW, I did not get far into the game...perhaps level 14 or so. I didn't get to travel much but from what I've seen in videos and such the cities look very bland and unimaginative. Is this true? I was a Thestran Human so I started out in that area but never saw any big city of Thestra. Is there one? Thanks.

1. Still lots of lag but not so many bugs now.
2. Game now has rested xp, so more casual friendly, I play about 20 hours a week and only just reached 50th from February. Rested xp for each of the three spheres as well.
3. The game is huge, not everything is amazing to look at but with a good graphics card, there are lots of wonders to look at. Some of the newer areas (kojan, high elf place) are stunning.
4. Thestra has a massive city called New Targonor, its probably the biggest city in any game I have ever seen.
Is it worth while coming back?
Lag is still an issue, update 3 has trial island (which also sorts out the graphic assets or something) and hopefully more bug fixes.
Merges have sorted out a good population on all servers and the game has reached its low and is climbing back up.
If you dont mind a bit of lag and a few bugs then come back, otherwise I recommend waiting till update 3.

One major bug i wish they would put more time into is install.
How about, installing the game and dubbleclick on the icon. then you can play. But it's not the fact today if youre running vista
I just downloaded the game and am waiting for it to get fully patched. Im using a buddy key.
Looking at the news stuff, theres been LOTS of bug fixes it seems. But I havent yet played it, so I dont know for sure
I do love all the games concepts though. Looks neat.

I have vista and VG, but I am not getting the same problem here. Perhaps try to run it as admin
