From what I've read, I can't wait to try out the new tradeskill/crafting system. It's modeled after combat, and fighting a monster. Sounds great! Here's what I like to hear:
If you want to make a sword, for instance, you "engage" the forge and go through a process that's not unlike fighting. When a character interacts with the forge it begins to animate (sparks fly, bellows pump, etc.) Raw materials and a desired result are selected. Then, almost like hit points of a monster, the durability and quality of the item being crafted appear as status bars above the forge. Over time the quality gets better but the durability may drop. During this process, special events might happen: the forge might get too hot, an impurity might be found, or an opportunity to improve the item might come up, forcing the crafter to respond with appropriate skills. If the "encounter" is handled well, the crafter will be able to create a very powerful item.
Now that sounds interesting. Not like pressing the combine button a billions times, lol.

That sounds awesome....but thats ALMOST how it was in horizons...
you had all the animation and stuff in horizons were you pound the metal and sparks would fly and all that stuff....
but not on every thing it didn't
