The MMORPG boards for this game seem to be well monitered since posts are made just a few minutes after, but their are no posts about the game, is every one to afraid the game might flop to post?.
I am considering preording this game, because it looks pretty good, and they need the money i am sure.
you cant just expect every one else to preorder it and make it happen .
So what is every one elses thoughts about this game?
Comments
looks pretty hollow right now im not to sure what to think looks like they have just the terrain no foliage and no buildings not sure if there is much there for preordering you never know if this might flop I would wait to see more substance in the game
Ya but as i said, preording gives them money which either they are using for the game, or it gives the incentive to actually make the project work. So by waiting to preorder it you could just be helping it flop . so i am unsure
its your money I dont think a company should need someone to preorder it to get incentive on finishing a product and im sure they dont need incentive im just saying I would wait to see some more in game besides a 3D world anyone that knows how to use or willing to learn how to use 3d software can make a 3d world and take screenshots and I am sure it took along time to make it but I would wait till it starts looking more like a game I dont think your $30 or $40 it gonna take them to the next 2 years so that is my ideas on it do what you wish to do I hope they do get this game going sounds like it could be good and by the time this comes out we will all be burned out on PoTBS, WAR, AoC
Ya agree with you their.
evidently this is not being made by a game company seems its more being made by a bunch of college age people
I think the game is coming along nicely. I know that it is not being made by college kids. They have quite a good team developing this one. It is an independant game with no big supporters like EA or SOE. It takes a lot of time when there are only a handful of people working on a game. Even more importantly, it takes more effort to believe in them when no one else does.
This game will be made, you should register with the forums and check out the community there. Check out the building models and other npc models done. No levels, no classes, this is a great direction to take mmorpgs imo.
Ahh, but here is the issue. You have a small independent company making what will be a revolutionary MMO, if they can provide all they promise, willing to take risks but they dont have the resources to complete the game in a timely manner. On the other hand you have huge companies that can crank out MMO after MMO all looking like the last but they are unwilling to take a chance for fear that it will flop and they will lose their investment. Unfortunately if Eyes Out does not find more backing, and I don't mean a few people preordering the game, then this project will fail. But then again if they bring in a bigger company unwilling to take chances it won't matter.
Yeah i agree with you but I think people are willing to wait this time. They are tired of all the games being grind-fests. Even if this game never gets huge with EA or SOE backing (hopefully), the few people that want something different will stick out the longer wait.
i'm sure the "big news" that their leader was talking about will put all your fears to rest.
as for the world, the client can support models etc, and has, the reason you see no screen shots of it is a bug in the loading resources stuff, all the screen shots you've seen are from the Feb build of the game.
It seems, all news/screenshots is being held off until sykoi announces this "big news"
as for the staff, i remember reading that some of the people who work on the game actually work in teh industry and do this game in their spare time. Search around the forums, it's in there somewhere.
I used to be on the team as the historian. I never actually saw anything new besides the random screenshots on the website. It's been in the works for awhile now, so don't hold your breath.
I did some web work on a civil war based fps mod back in the late 90s, i can tell you right now that historians, or web workers are not a part of the "team". Sure you might of gotten a few ref pics for modelers, wrote some docs, said that doesn't look right, but in the end why show the full game to you? you've probably seen the same few screen shots that i have (on the main site). I'm holding onto my breath, because i'm sure it'll be worth it.
Good luck to you then.
well i can tell u this, the game wont look great :P
the idea is good, but its not something just a few pple can do
