Going back to AC

For close on to 5 years now I have been searching for an MMO like AC. I have played almost all of them, beta tested a few that never released, and lived through the death of one of my favorites. (Earth and Beyond) And still to this day I haven't yet found one that I loved as much as AC. So back I go to play till it dies too.

We all should remember our roots and enjoy the game as we remember it pre-decal. We didn't need that stuff when we played. I just read a website that said decal was REQUIRED to play AC!!! Step up, go back, use the 2 week trial, and find out if its really as broken as all that.

At least the noob areas will be empty, lol

The only reason you really need Decal is too identify loot. It takes way too long to scan corpses for loot.

Other than that people are really lazy and don't like to buff. Buffing is easy now since all you have to do is click yourself to cast item spells, you don't have to click individual items anymore.

    Welcome back CombatNinja !!!!!

You will notice much has changed the past years and I think the game is better then ever before. They upgraded the graphics (not the modern state of art, but more then acceptable) added a lot of content and new features to bring it to modern standards.

You don't need Decal. As you know this is for 3th party programs, but i.m.o. there are a some very nice ones. I use them mainly to avoid endless clicking (ok call me lazy, lol).

Yes the towns might look empty. But in towns is not much to do except traveling an trading. Most players join a guild and the monarchy mansions are often used to meet your clan mates. My advize is to find a good monarchy asap. Don't run into the first nice talking player, but try to find out more about the players intention and what kind of monarchy he/she is in.

I wish you much fun in game and if you decide to play on the Solclaim server, please feel free to contact the Crimson Knights in game or by our website http://crimsonknights-sc.com

I am indeed interested in joining a Monarchy, since I just started I have no problem moving to SC. Email me and when I get off work we can talk.

Maybe I should go back to AC I loved the game when it first came out and have now just been searching for something as good or fun.

I'm here to tell you AC is still better than any MMO on the market right now and its one of the oldest, at least sighn up for the trial and give it a try. And if you should decide to come to Solclaim look me up!!

I fired up AC recently and have to admit, it's practically the same experience from all those years ago -- all the way down to that tiny ding sound when a skill levels up. Among the most shocking things to me were the optional pretty graphics (which are just textures -- turbine hasn't migrated the AC2 engine and probably never will), a noticeable dearth of population, and a bit of fluxation in critter levels. PK Lite seems to be the predominant form of PvP on white servers, though I haven't been around enough (or leveled enough) to know.

But Darktide is still around if you want the PvP anywhere thing.
