can you let us know some of what you have played and maybe we can then suggest some first of the rank i would suggest Gothic it aint free but you can get it real cheap almost for nothing and it should last you a while.
I never really found any game had good RP, its more of what people are around you. Find a good group and youll find good Roleplaying no matter what you do.
If your looking for a free Online game that's really fun, I recomend Dungeon Runners (Especially if you are a fan of Diablo style games). Plus, the game is hillarious.
kinda in the same boat as you, but I'm pretty sure that free = suck from what I can tell I've tried alot of them and none seem to have any depth what so ever.
Don't think the game you want exists right now.
btw don't bother guys with sword of the new world, really pretty and good presentation.. all you do is hit space bar and walk away.. that's it.
you think I'm exaggerating, but after you download and play it you'll see what I mean, the game does everything for you it's basically a game for botters.
RF Online just went from pay to play too free to play recently. its definately worth looking into if you have not tryed it. Very pvp centered, basic and fairly simplistic. But the grind currently isn't anywhere near what most F2p's are. Loot drops are abundant and lvling is not all that hard. Tho I get the feeling from what I have read with the next update alot of that will change since it will be gearing the game to support the free to play model thats now in place.
I like Voyage Century the most for free. It's tough getting going, there's not a whole lot of information on how to do things. The historical angle is cool and can get addictive if you like hunting pirates, exploring, trade skilling, etc. The user-interface could use fixing I think.
Shot Online is also an interesting change of pace. They've managed to map out leveling for golf and the community is pretty laid back. It's a good one for a casual Saturday morning.
Fishing Champ also from the makers of Shot Online is good for some goofy fun. Leveling, cooking, getting fishing gear. Not for serious fisherpersons, but is quite entertaining in an anime kind of way.
sword of the new world is only a 10 or 14 day trial, sucks
rf online is boring, too many ddrops of what you dont need, a fancier looking flyff with guns
twelve sky needs help, it seems to be more in alpha stages
but reminds me of cal online because of deathmoves/demons
and 9dragons for the run ability
2moons gets boring after lvl30^ seeing as you have to hardcore grind on the same monsters fore more than 8 lvls.(boring)
voyage century atfirst seems complicated, thought it is a fun game to play you will get bored around your lvl 6 ship, hours of gameply or money needed to gain lvls, (same monsters) unclear of which lvls you should attack what, falcion is the best weapon for its defense capabilities. boarding ships is great but only for about a month or two.
knight online....ick
age of armor, needs help as far as mobs go, cool little take on mechs if your an anime dork like myself (evangelion, gundam etc)
zero online, much like conquer online, eu demons (nuff said)
project torque, (more like gantorismo )
Drift city( ridge racer , nice drifting, hours of gameplay needed for good cars) i reccomend this if you want somethin new
though it still gets boring.
im still waiting to try zu online myself, though not holding on to any expectations, most free to play games have become horrible with the content they have, not to mention u end up spending way more money on item malls. you might as well pay for the game
Try city of heroes for 14 day trail, with that you can try both cov and coh
Here are three "free to play" RPGs that I've played.
1. Project Entropia - I didn't stick with this game for very long, but it did seem fairly interesting and I've seen it in MMO news off and on. The graphics were above par considering its mostly free, although I hear to get anywhere, you almost have to spend real money to buy guns and items. Might be worth a try.
2. Hero Online - I spent quite a few hours playing this one before I played Silk Road and then World of Warcraft. From what I did within the game, I have to say it seemed pretty well made. The graphics aren't great, but it had a lot of options and a decently intuitive interface. If I remember correctly they also had this cool feature for giving bounties. That could definitely be cool. I saw a ton of high level characters too, which means it probably has a decent community.
3. Silk Road Online - This game seemed like a more polished Hero Online, but I didn't stick with it as long. What I would do is try both Hero and Silk Road and see which one you like better. Both will satisfy, but it really comes down to preference.
Just remember that most free MMO's are fun for awhile, but the novelty wears fast (especially Runescape )
You guy seems so addicted to Rpg. Of course, I like it too. I think a good one is one that can run on various platforms, and I can play anywhere and anytime. Why? It's mobile world. It should be sure excellent in maps and graphics as well as races.
I''m lucky for I've found such a powerful function one, and I've played it long time. Shadow of Legend, I really think a good one to play.
Why is it exactly you want a free MMO? You're not trying to substitute one for one you pay for right? Because if you want to get into MMO's it is worth paying for a good one. However if you just want something to occupy a little free time, then I understand.
If you're looking for a MMORPG where you just have to do quests all the time and just kill other players, then those games aren't hard to find... If you're looking for a game where you get to chose what to do, I suggest Anarchy Online. It's a SF game and the basic game is F2P. The paying players 'live in another world.' I mostly play MMORPG for 2 weeks before it gets boring. I played this game for a year!
you are making me think of suggesting Anarchy Online when I'm done with Gunz. maybe I will stijn. it looks pretty good and I never played that such games before with spacecrafts and stuff so it might be fun. Tnx for ur input
You might try Archlord. I did not give it a try because of the reports here on this forum. I decided what the heck and tried it. I have never been a big PVP sort of person but I have grown to like it somewhat(If they would just kill of the gankers) Otherwise, it is turning out to be a decent game.
This weekend would be a good time to try it, double xp and all.
Yeah, Archlord looks pretty good, good graphics and good gameplay... BUT, it's probably just killing other players and doing quests 'till you don't like it anymore...

Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
If your looking for a free Online game that's really fun, I recomend Dungeon Runners (Especially if you are a fan of Diablo style games). Plus, the game is hillarious.
I played it, and its really boring
try sword of new world they say its good, I will download it as soon as my comp is fixed
Nothing

so you guys are saying that not any free RPG game is really good?
but i liked 2moons a lot but it trains way too slow
but please keep me informed of all games u like
and thanks already
or else i will cry

maybe thats a nice game but i dont like the games that are very pvp centered because im very bad in pvp

Keep an eye on Mass Effect (currently only) for Xbox360
My god that's gonna rock so hard, unbelievable.
the best blog of the net
is that a free game when its out on pc?
i just hate it to pay for a game just like WoW
first you need to buy the game and download the client(right)
and then you can play the game if you pay every month or so
and i think thats just a waste of my money especially when your 15 and you need the money for school and other stuff
so i think buying a game or paying for it is a waste of money
if you guys want to be so nice to dont post games where you need to pay for
sword of the new world is only a 10 or 14 day trial, sucks

i played silkroad before
i diddent played it very long because i dont like the theme of that game
its too much chinese and japanese for my taste but overall it was a pretty good games with very good graphics for a free RPG
but currently im playing gunz again because it is pretty cool and my friends are playing it also
but keep me informed
Why is it exactly you want a free MMO? You're not trying to substitute one for one you pay for right? Because if you want to get into MMO's it is worth paying for a good one. However if you just want something to occupy a little free time, then I understand.
I have personally enjoyed Silkroad Online and Sword of the New World. Both are free.
well actually i dont know what i want in a game
but i dont want the chinese or japanese theme
thats 1 thing i dont want
i think i want something like WoW but without paying
or like ROSE online
i played ROSE a few years ago when it was still free and i liked it a lot!!!
but then they updated the game and my account was gone and you needed to pay for it

tnx for the advice. im gonna check it
Yeah, Archlord looks pretty good, good graphics and good gameplay... BUT, it's probably just killing other players and doing quests 'till you don't like it anymore...
(This is only my opinion, I could be wrong)
