Nope, One of the great things about EVE was the fact that everyone played on 1 server. There will always be new players to the game and you can't keep poping new servers up.

However I hate the time based skill system. Every time I think about re-activating my account that is what stops me. There is just nothing you can do to catch up.

Why?  That'd just make it harder for noobs.  As a noob you can almost always get free ships, skills, and equipment from long time corp or players.  And you wouldn't gain anything...a 1 month old player isn't at a disadvantage from vets.

The systems in which one starts are just like 'safety/training zones' in most other games known as "1.0" systems.  Creating an extra server would not only take extra resources, but would require that the player start over again on the main server.

Absolutely not.  That is a large factor in the appeal of this game.

EVE Online is like a 3-D Defender (if you don't know what Defender is . . . you go issues) like game in multiplayer? Somthin like that?

I know what defender is but I would NEVER make that correlation. image
I would say that is completely off base.

DEFINATLY NOT.  One of the best things about Eve is that it is 1 world.  Everyone is together.

  • HollbornHollborn Member Posts: 13

No. This is why there is safe Empire space where PvP isn't allowed. If you are carefull you need never get ganked. I think that it would be harder for new players to learn the game. When I started playing having a corporation of experienced players to show me the ropes was invaluable.
If there was another server there would be nothing but new players on it. I for one would never go on it. I doubt anyone would. Nobody running corporations. Nothing being made. The market would need to be NPC run. New players just wouldn't get the full EVE Online experience and leave I think.

You could say 1.0 systems are basically a noob server all it's own.  You are completely protected there and nothing can harm you!  AND you can venture out when you see fit!  What more could you ask for?

Actualy your both wrongyour NOT "completely protected there" PVP can happen in a 1.0 system and someday you will figure that out the hard way.

The only way PvP can happen in 1.0 system is if the corp you are a member of has wars against them. New players should be careful when joining a corp to ask the CEO this. Other than this there is no other way to pvp in 1.0 system unless you are in the same gang or corp. It is then assumed you consented to it.

Gone are the days of Cruise Missile packing frigates ganking haulers then taking the loss of ship from Concord.
Until you explain how you can participate in PvP with not consenting you are lying. Anyone shooting on someone in Empire will get killed by concord - period. I have been playing this game for nearly a year now and I have friends that are pirates that don't know of any other way with out exploiting.

Rather than belittle Hollborn's comments which are on the money, and i know you don't want to question my lore of the game... why not tell us why he is incorrect? Because I for one would be very interested to know. Without exploiting, you will be shot down by Concord (Guards) in any Security System 0.1 or higher for engaging in combat outside of Station or Warpgate within 150km of a Sentry Gun or Flagship with anyone that is not at war with your corporation.

EDIT: Directed at Natas not Hollborn.

Because it is hard coded into the game. A person mining, NPC hunting or running agent missions in a 1.0 cannot be ganked by ANYONE unless they either accept a gang from them, their corp is in a war (which I already mentioned in a previous post) or they instigated the action somehow by committing a crime. People can fire or activate a module on you if they want but Concord wouldn't take to kindly to this. If they are in a Caracal they might even be able to kill you before Concord then kills them. This is a lot rarer with the new missile rules and now that frigates and cruisers can't carry cruise missiles. I doubt that anyone flying anything larger than frigate would die to a few heavy missiles. The Caracal would be toast before they got into armor.

I still stand by my statement. That REAL - unconcented - PvP (where someone doesn't get ganked by Concord because that would be PvPvNPC) cannot happen in 1.0 without the above situations happening.

I'm sorry if i was a bit rude in my above post. I just don't want new players getting the wrong idea. (unless you can clear the air for them and me)

No, the beauti of EVE is the everyone is on the same universe. ::::30:: Don't even play with that tought. ::::30::

The universe has died and been reborn before. Remember, I am of the First.
I survived the first destruction, to see the end of the Second World
and the beginning of the Third and Fourth.

No it is NOT correct I can shoot any indy i want in "Secure space" without using an exploit.

I just have to be willing to get my frigate destroyed by concord.

lol. I would like to see you destroying a hauler with 4 light missiles. What planet are you on. Because that is the maximum amount of missiles you will be able to launch in a frigate before getting ganked by Concord.
I would just sit there laughing at you.
    AND...
    It is considered exploiting

Er... Perhaps you need to re-read this conversation before responding to Me... We were not discussing the fact that you can or cannot shoot an "indy" in Secure Space without using an exploit.
