“The whole point with Warhammer Online was that it is all about WAR,” Mark said. “It’s all about battle. Are we turning the industry on its head with this game? No. Are we changing things and doing some things differently? Absolutely! All you gotta do is look at what we’re doing, and you’ll see that most games don’t do it our way.”

Thats says a lot of it right there. What exactly is Mythic evolving?? The answer is not PvP, its RvR. Mythic is reinventing the RvR system they started in DAoC. If you're not familiar with the difference between the two then heres a short list of what WAR will offer in PvP that most games do not at this point.
-Instanced, objective based, game play in the form of scenarios. The computer matches the people that sign up for a given scenario to offer the optimal about of balance in the game and makes up any difference in players using bots...called Dogs of War in WAR.
- Capital City Raids. The ability to actually attack your arch rivals capital city AND sack it is relatively new.
-The pleasure of being able to gain considerable amounts of experience through PvP without ever having to worry about loosing something. Killing a person in WAR grants you both level experience and renown points, which establish your overall PvP rank.
-You can't do anything in WAR without somehow contributing to the overall war effort of your side. Even just questing or farming for experience gains victory points for you side, which help to establish control over the different tiers in the game.
-Moral abilities open up a window of select skills that are only available to you for certain amounts of time. You'll have to decide when to use what ability. Although this isn't a PvP only thing, its worth mentioning as moral abilities will be very important for PvP.
-Tactics: The ability to inconsequentially respec your character for whatever role you need to fill for the time being. You can preset your tactic specs for easy switches from an offensive build to a defensive or something in the middle depending on what kind of a scenario you need to deal with. Again, not strictly a PvP thing, but its going to make a huge difference in the world of PvP.
It's revolutionary because no other game has tried to copy WoW so closely.
FYI no one ever tried to copy every game as WoW so closely.

I never played DaoC, so I'm really excited to see how a PVP heavy game like WAR will turn out. The very idea of RvR is interesting to me, and from what I've seen so far, WAR will be both revolutionary and evolution.
RvR and most gameplay elements will be Evolutionary from games like DaoC, WoW, EQ2, etc..
but Tome of Knowledge and Public Quests will be Revolutionary.

Yes, I'm hoping the Tome of Knowledge and public quests breath some new life into stodgy old MMORPG standards like quest logs and camping spawns in the usual competition rather than cooperative effort for quest resources. Viva la EVOLUTION!
