    I am so sorry to see him pass.

    From what I understand, he did not finish the series before he died.

    I quit reading the series after the third or fourth book when I realized that he couldn't possibly finish the series in my lifetime, much less his own.

    In a manner of speaking yes.  A Memory of Light, the final book was of course being finished up by Jordan when he passed. However the man cared enough about his WOT series that he began recording his plotlines and ideas for the ending.  They are currently transcribing from those tapes to at least finish off the book.  Obviously at some point the book will no longer be his own words but at least it's from his own mind.
