Going back to the good old days, how many of you played origional EQ and what were some of your most memorable moments?

I played a Necro and gotta say one of mine is The Sleeper event, good old Kerafyrm...

Going back to the lowbie days loved kurn's tower and running around in the field of bone

    All of my fond memories date back before Luclin expansion...  One being Camping FBSS for 15 hours and never getting it.. Loved it.. My healer got one before me,  I was a warrior...  Mayby not fond.. but dreaded.

    Actually having to run from qeynos to freeport and it took forever. . . .

    The night the frogloks took of the troll town.  That was neat.

    I have alot of vivid memories of EQ. Probably as it was the first MMO I played, and so I was really immersed (somehow the "wow" factor is kinda gone now for newer games...)

    Anyways, think my biggest ones were getting my druid epic -and helping others with theirs - helping camp the cleric one comes to mind...

    Dying in plane of fear repeatedly, geting my set of vermiculated - I thought I was soo cool., running through Kithicor at night for the first time, crushbone throne room, drowning in timorous deep, seeing dragons of Velious for the first time, hitting velious for first time and realizing I wasnt done with orcs lol...exploring Plane of Growth, camping the Grimling runner, finally killing Sunlord Wedazi in Scarlet desert for some stupid item now I cant even remember...

    Lots more memories, and more the more I think about the game lol.

    Night time on Orc Hill. Having to listen for orcs and having them come running out of the darkness at you while playing first person hooked me. Games now are all 3rd person and darkness is a non-factor. Met my wife on Orc Hill actually. Been together 7 years now.

    Useless city guards that kill the mob 0.0005 seconds AFTER you die and people messing with the POD stick out in my mind as well.

    MMOs Played: EQ 1&2, DAoC, SWG, Planetside, WoW, GW, CoX, DDO, EVE, Vanguard, TR
    Playing: WAR
    Awaiting 40k Online and wishing for Battletech Online

    Yeah EQ holds the same memories for me, was my first as well and was the MMO that I stuck with the longest. Was a lot of fun back in the day, made tons of friends all over the world that I still hear from from time to time.

    I have to say I have a lot of good memories with EQ. My first MMO so It was all new to me and fantastic. Besides all the first times this and that I will miss more than anything the communtiy. I was from E Marr and we seemed to have a lot of good people. I met many people and had made some really good IG Friends for the 4yrs I played.

    Those people I met and shared times with is the most memorable memories that I have. I wished I had the opportunity to meet some of them in RL. That above all else is what made EQ such a unique and fun experience for me. EQ set the bar way too high for me and nothing will have that newness and wonderment about it.
