A qoestion about Oblivion.

I know Oblivion isn't an MMO but MMO players love it and play it, so I have a question, I managed to get a copy and made an Imperial Knight. I am at the beginning and after handing in the Amulet of Kings or whatever to the Monk I now have to find the Emperor's (who gets killed in the very beginning of the game) son whos name is Martin. After talking to the luitenant at the top of the hill he tells you hes been trapped in a church and you have to go close the oblivion gate.

I went inside of it and I can kill monsters one on one but I cant seem to be able to take 2 at the same time. I am rather stuck and want to shut the gate so I can get to the next part of the quest but I dont know if I need to wait and go there after I level some more. Any help from the players with experience is appriciated, thank you in advance.

That first gate is always tough, but I suggest you at least try to get to lvl 17 then stocking up on potions.

Also try and get a basic heal spell because you can only carry so amny potions and the loot in Oblivion is pretty good [Deadrik artifacts].

I basically made a Knight with some limited summoning and healing abilitys.

Don't listen to the level up advice: the creatures will simply level up to you; spawn more of themselves; and kill you even faster. My advice is to simply tough it out and try to draw one at a time. Perhaps try training your marksman skill up and just running and shooting. When fighting the scamps you can always stay ranged for awhile and dodge their fireballs. This will get you a bit of an advantage when they run out of magicka and bring the fight to you. Another idea is to simply run--or sneak--past the larger groups of enemies while taking on the smaller groups. Oh, and potions are always very nice.

I had the exact same problem when I started playing it.

Best bet, is to use some sort of cheap tactic. If theres lava, figure out a way to get the creature into it. Stay as far away as possible. Try using poison arrows. If you can snipe the bastard from an unreachable rock, you're golden. Heal spells are very very good. Get in the Mages Guild and get that fancy Staff, its basically free kills.

When all else fails, run through it and snag the Sigil Stone. Towards the end of the game I got bored of the gates and just ended up doing that.
