if i had to choose between an xbox and a ps2, i would definately pick ps2! xbox cant be better then ps2, it just cant. i know this because ive played on both and i liked ps2 better!! trust me when i say this...xbox is good but ps2 is better!!

X-box ~ PS2

X-Box- Better graphics and games, no need for memory cards. games for 70

PS2- Worst graphics game, but MORE games. games for 60

So, if u want quality and u have money, go with X.Box

If u like quantity and r poor, go with PS2. Uer choice

I have both systems, so I'm not going to say one sucks. I no longer purchase PS2 games anymore though, since I've had it longer than my XBox I have too many PS2 games. There haven't been any games that have came out for the PS2 that urged me to purchase them. They either came out for the XBox or PC or I simply didn't like them. I voted for XBox for the simple fact that I'm a PC man and like all the features the XBox comes with right out of the box. PS2 is still a great system, but I'm no fanboi.

Don't know how you can say everything else on Xbox besides Halo is crap. Unless you only play fps, and Halo for the Xbox is the only one you like.

I have owned both PS2 and Xbox. My PS2 finally bit the dust, and I have thought about buying another one for MGS3, but MGS3 will come out on the pc so I probably won't by another PS2. I like both, but I believe I will have to give the tie breaker to the Xbox because of the games being released this year for it.

Xbox has Sudeki and NCAA 05 this month (PS2 also gets NCAA 05), then Halo 2 and Fable this fall. Of course PS2 does have MGS3 - god what a sweet game.

Xbox is the more powerful system, but MS has not done as good a job at putting out the games like Sony has for the PS2. Both consoles have good games in all gaming genres except probably the mmos. Xbox has Halo and PS2 has MGS series as far as fps and shooters go. The sports games, like Madden03 & 04 and NCAA03 & 04, look better on the Xbox and run smoother on the Xbox than on the PS2. Me and a friend actually tested this out. We got the same exact tv's, cables, bought or borrowed brand new discs of the games, and set up the consoles side by side. Both looked great, but you could tell that the Xbox was just better.

The PS2 is older than the Xbox and when Sony brings out it's next gen console and MS does the same, this battle will rage on. Don't forget about Nintendo. They still plan to produce the GameCube even after they release their next gen console.

How many of us who own Xbox consoles or prefer Xbox over PS2 right now will be going out and buying the Sony or Nintendo next gen system? I probably will and you probably will as well.

The only defense I ever hear an XBox gamer have is that "the graphics are so much better than PS2's!". Yes, they are. Now how many good games are these graphics in? I say this meaning, there aren't many good games on XBox, and most of the good ones are on PS2 as well. Personally, i think Halo sucks. In the short time I owned an XBox, the only game i loved was Jet Set Radio Future. That game rocked, and still rocks, but it's not worth a whole console. I sold my XBox after getting bored with Halo and beating JSRF, and getting all the characters, for the 5th time. Yes, I've sold my PS2 as well, but it was a time of weakness, and I really wanted that Digital Camera :P. I plan to buy another PS2 in the near future, mostly as a DVD player, but I lust for Ape Escape 2, and MGS2, and FFX, and Disgaea, and Shadow Hearts, and... the list goes on.

XBox online abilities are far better than ps2. PS2 online blows, just look at ffxi ahahaha.

I play games to compete not beat a guy named okusonauva that has a gient sword and then thats it.

I have owned both and onlything that ps2 has better than xbox is some what a much better selection of RPG's but the xbox does have Knights of the Old Repulic which just kicks some major backside....halo2 will defentily be awesome. you also have Fable which will be spectacular and also you will get a mmo out this fall in true fantasy online. xbox live and the hard drive help expand ingame content to quite a few games even after the game has seemed to end. xbox defenitly gives you the options.

True Fantasy Live Online was cancelled a few weeks ago :P. Unless there has been news that someone else has picked it up off of MS in the last 2 weeks while I moved and my pc was in boxes.

Satan's Disciple is correct in that there are some really great games on the PS2 compared to the Xbox, but Xbox will, in my opinion and it may not be true , push ahead with the games being released for it between now and xmas. You have Sudeki, Fable, Halo 2 and so on. Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 will look so awesome on the Xbox as well, but they won't look bad on the PS2 either. Like I said, PS2 has MGS3 which is better than Halo, but hmmmm.....will Halo 2 be better than MGS3. Think I'll start a new thread. L8TR.

Yes, they are better, that doesn't make it a better console by itself though. I'm not sure which console's online is doing better, that would be interesting to know. If you play multiplayer on your PC and singleplayer on your console, like myself, PS2 is perfect.

And I'm not aware of this XBox modding thing, how is it done? I'd only heard of people installing Linux on it, but now I've also heard that about PS2 too.

Though I like most game systems....own most of the game systems too(yes that includes an old Intellivision one....if you don't know what that is....*sighs* I feel so old ).

I own all game systems just in case a good game comes out souly for that system, i see someone said all the xbox is good for is halo... well your wrong Halo is a peice of crap to. PS2 as of now is the best console, they are makin all the moves right now, they have the best selection, i currently have 5 PS2 games on pre-order havent bought a new game for my xbox in forever because well the only good titles the xbox has, are better on PC (Ex. Counter Strike , KOTOR) so in my mind ps2 is the winner hands down

PS2 has good games but X-Box has a nice selection of games too and not just Halo.

X-Box has a lot of games coming out this year which include Halo 2, Fable, Jade Empire, Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Conker's Bad Fur Day: Live and Uncut. They even got great games coming out next year. PS2 cant handle the graphics for Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. Thats like a known fact. X-Box can surpass PS2 graphics wise but the creators are lazy to use X-Box to its full potential. Look at The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, I like to see PS2 run those graphics. Not a chance.

Overall I say X-Box is better. Mine didnt break after a year and a half like my PS2 did. I buy more games for my X-Box then I do PS2 now.

ok, im going to apply my words of wisdom to this never-ending chain of stupid-ness,

look at the votes x-box has, then look at ps2. which one has more votes? ps2. More people like ps2 becasue it has more games and better games then x-box. they are cheap too! why do people when they know ps2 is best? that is confusing. ps2 doesnt exactly have the best graphics but at least they are good graphics. i hope i have made my point for all of you lost ones out there.

ok, im changing my answer. i just bothered to look at diabolicalsin's post and he mentioned fablefor x-box. the way my friends talking about the game fable, youd be an idiot if you didnt get it. Its suppose to be a great game. anyway, x-box is my new favorite. everyone out there, dont be confused by my sudden change. if what diabolicalsin is true about fable coming out this year, i hope everone has an x-box before then because when the game does come out, there wont be any more x-boxes.
