Top 10 most/least admired jobs?

A friend who studies sociology is doing an essay where he'd like to know your personal top 10 of most and least admired jobs. So two 'top 10s' if you will. If you can't think of the full ten, less is fine too. Please state your country of residence too, as he'd like to look for certain trends. If you have the time, it'd be helpful if you gave a short description as to why you like or dislike said profession.
Personally, it interests me too, which is the main reason I'm posting this. I don't know if a healthy discussion can come from a thread like this, but if possible, go ahead. Thanks in advance.

Im a carousel operator, and I love it to death. Easy job, and decent pay for bout as little work as possible.
Wow. I think I would pretty much have to agree with your list. But, #1 and #2 on least is debatable. They could easily switch places. Also, I put more admiration in for a stay at home parent than that of a police officer.
Doctors seem to be put in both most and least lists.~~~~~~

I'm sorry, i'm a bit too lazy to make a list, so i'll summarize:
Least desired/respected-
(insert list including jobs that people who drop out of school, take advantage of others, dependant on image)
Most desired/respected-
(insert jobs that include the welfare of animals/humans/environment - not protesters - that include a high standard of craft/skill and jobs that we NEED for the world to go round and tend to be poorly paid)
Well here is a few example
Worst job: Fast food worker ( I did this for 8 years it sucks )
Best Job: Doctor
There are way to many different job types to really list them. All service jobs generally suck and dealing with the general public in general in a low wage industry is horrible. For what ever reason most people figure if you work in this industry you are stupid and slow. Not so as alot of people work this type of job either due to time constraits out side of work ( school, family, another job ).
As for being a Doctor being one of the best jobs from my point of view it would be a great job to have. The wealthiest people in my home town are doctors. In the town I am currently living there are a shortage of doctors and those that practice here always have patients.

The 10 jobs I have the most respect for are:
1.) Marines/Army/Military related = These guys work their ass off, don't get paid much and fight a war that has no point
2.) Firefighters = They get woken up all the time and put their life on the line, even at 1 in the morning
3.) Police Officer = Even if they do their job completely right and the best they can they still get so much crap from people
4.) Personal trainer = Sometimes its really hard to help people loose weight because some people don't understand how it works and sometimes pushing people is a pain in the ass.
5.) Paramedic = They save peoples lives and are highly undervalued
6.) CEO = Yea... if you get here it shows that you probably went to college and you arn't afraid of taking risks
7.) Doctor = They save lives all the time, and they had to go through a hell of a lot of school to get there.
8.) FBI agent or CIA agent = I don't respect these jobs because they are good or fun, but rather because i could never do them. 95% of the agents just sit around doing paperwork all day, paperwork that most of the time isn't that important, yet you can never say anything about it.
9.) Animation Artist = Its not the best job, but you can really have a lot of pride after you work on a year project and finish it. You can say you were part of something bigger than yourself.
10.) Emergancy Rescue Diver = Nothing is more awsome and teriffying then jumping off a helecopter into a hurricane to save someones life. Anyone who can do this has my respect.
