Every game in beta gets date pushed at one time or another... this is a GOOD thing IMO, it allows the dev team to make sure the game comes out polished and bug free.

OP, cancel the preorder.
It's NOT a good thing. The delay runs hand in hand with more lay-offs. Although the CEO downplays everything...its a repeat of Vanguard right down to the technical issues. Believe what you like but its all smoke and mirrors. The game, if it launches, will be unready and incomplete.
Well, I'm going to assume that Perpetual Entertainment, doesn't have the funding that SoE does. I'm sure they intended to have the game ready by date, but decided to hold it off due to the fact it's not ready yet. Where as SoE will launch a broken game happily and use your money to make it work. If you didn't know how this business works, Marketing makes the deadlines and the writers and programmers scramble to make them. Does it suck to have your pre-order delayed? hell yes! But again, I want a working game and a nice fat reward for waiting more then a busted game and kick in the groin.
As far as discounted pre-order, that would be nice, but I would rather pay full price then buy a Sony made game.
Hmm yeah sad to hear, another thing is how come there is no videos around with actual ingame gameplay,
like PotBS, WAR and AoC etc. And only PotBS is close to gold.
Theres a few on youtube, but they made by company themself i belive..
The game is in closed beta and is under strict NDA. All (or most) NDAs include the line where admitting to the fact that you are in beta is breach of protocol and subject to penalties. I think there will be a flood of information (uncluding videos) from testers once the NDA is lifted.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.
When you made you pre-order did they specify a set release date for you? No ... Pre-orders are not a method of generating capitol either, quite often the capitol raised is invested in publishing if a publishing contact isn't there. And for all those who state that this is Vanguard all over again I would say that you are wrong. PE are in good financial shape and the downsizing of a companies resources (team members) is a natural step at this phase of development. I work fthe for a database design company and once the application has run through alpha and beta 1 testing, the completion of the project is handled not by the original dev team but a new team who specialise in bringing the application to completion.
I for one am happy that PE are delaying, they are very aware of the problems of releasing a non complete game and they want this to shine. Have faith and stick with your pre-order if you want, otherwise cancel it and spend the money elsewhere in the meantime .

I disagree that it's a good thing. The MMO industry should have learned enough by now that pushing back release dates only makes you look unprofessional. If they aren't sure when it is going to ship, they shouldn't publically announce a release date / estimate.

I agree with Unsub here, however pushing release dates back has become so commonplace in this industry over the past several years that the consumer simply accepts it and patiently waits. I fully agree that if a game is not ready, do not push it out simply to make a date, but development companies should factor in setbacks when first releasing a date to the public. It's not like this is the first time these people are creating/releasing a game. Even the giants in the industry like Blizzard are horrid on release dates. Did it hurt sales at all for them? not an ounce. We the consumer just sucked it up and waited patiently like the suckers we are.
Took me 2 losses to realize. Bastardo DnL and the hype from SWG fans and i'd prefer not to state the other
None the less pre-ordering is never good. (Though I know if I really want the pre-order perks the night before still gets you into the pre-order selection if the release date is confirmed and you can get in store pick-up).

Yea...for me...one loss...LOTRO...my first pre-order...and my last...talk about disappointment..
GnH looks like it is headed down the same trail of mediocre gameplay in pretty graphics (Which by the way...are not that pretty either)
You get no beta key with preorder.... You get mixed messages from PE thats what you get. You get some saying your getting in closed beta and some saying your preorder got you open beta... Which is just totaly freaking disturbing.

Would you rather they keep the deadline and gave you a broken game?
A game should not even be offered for pre- order until it is damn near gold.
Shame on the company for trying to get working capital this way.
It's a bad sign and you should cancel.
preorder should be fraction of the amount say $5 max like it was in Guild Wars
I wanted to preorder Gods and Heroes but the prorder was like $50 the full retail amount so I didnt

Gods and Heroes meets Vanguard. SOE ruins another one.

Did you at least get a beta key with pre-order? I was planning on doing the pre-order and would be satisfied if it included a beta key.
