I like AC2, I just feel kind of stuck because I seem to have broken the chain of quests that took me from Arwic all the way to Rithwic. I can't just grind and kill mobs, killing mobs just for XP is SLOW XP. I'm level 16 and the minimum level on the next vault is 21, so that's not an option either.

Skael, I see you are trying to run the quests that are handed out from the beginning of the game. Those story quests are not very good XP. Here is a lesson for all the new AC2 players: GO TO HTTP://WWW.AC2HQ.COM
AC2HQ.COM is the absolute authority on Asheron's Call 2! Further, under "Player Guides" you will find a leveling guide that will assist you to in getting to your 30's. Be patient, my friend. You will find that levels 21-39 to be exceedingly difficult. At level 39, you will be able to do Icefire for 10 Million XP, then at 41 you will be able to do the Mage Academy (15 Million XP) ~ it will fly by. In just 4 more levels from there, you will get your 4% quests (of your level)... then you are on a roll to your 50's and having a blast. Since the intended shelf life of a MMORPG is 5 years, graphics mean absolutly nothing in the long run. Game features, gameplay, and game mechanics > game graphics.
BTW, how about you list what MMORPGs you have played? Because if you have not played all the major ones, then you obviously are not in any position to compare the actual ingame graphics of every MMORPG to AC2 LOLOL!
SWG graphics easily compete with AC2 graphics
DAoC, and AO, graphics are slightly under AC2 graphics, but are still nice enough to compete - thus the reason why DAoC has more players on just 1 server than AC2 does in its entire game.

What are you talking about? AO's graphics look nasty. DAoC doesn't have all the pretty landscapes that AC2 has.. high cliffs, valleys, complicated waterfall-lake-river systems.. DAoC is quite flat really.
There is something called an opinion that you need to learn about.. when people say that an MMORPG is the best, most original one out there, they are stating their opinions. No amount of unrelated "facts" can counter a personal opinion of a game.

sorry but i have to diseagree
i played AO for about 2 years... the graphics are not that bad. The armor graphics are some of the coolest things i have ever seen in any mmorpgs. I find the graphics in AO way better than DAoC but AC2 does beat AO and DAoC by far.

Sufficed, I think I can make a call on the graphics in comparison.
I will give it to SWG for having all the cool HUD features: email, auctions, other ... stuff. The graphics are fine no doubt.
Of all the games I have played... Asheron's Call 2 is the best.
Oh, and regarding population on AC2, I play on Frostfell and I am never at a loss for people to hunt and quest with... so who cares about the stupid population debate. Have to agree with you... I'm back on AC2 after a long time away and I have to say that the game is 100s of times better than when I left. Even with low sever pops you can always find things to do and my allegence mates are more than helpful. AC2 is a great game, too bad it wasn't in this condition when it waas released... who knows if they pull out an expansion pact and generate some pub for the game it could turn around.

Hi Skael!
I highly recommend going to Cavendo. You can get there from Rithwic, which has a gateway from Cragstone (south side). Head along the road west, and you will soon enough see the spectre of Rashan on a hilltop by the road. Talk to him for a great quest at lvl 16. After you complete it, talk to him again for another great quest. Rashan is your friend.
After that, you can go to Omishan. In the Kydi area you can find Kashem Mimbu. These will drop a Sanguine Fang Ungent, that gives a nice quest. Remember though, that once you drink the potion - you can not die before completing the quest, or it will fail.
Doing these things will get you very close to 19, where the next two vaults are. Drudge Citadel Vault and Kydi Vault (on Omishan).
Good luck! And yes, AC2 does rock. Explororor can take his population and cram it. I never have problems finding people to do things with.

Whoah Slow down! I never called you a noob. All I said was can you post what other MMORPGs you have played so we know if you have anything else to compare AC2 since you said and compared " ... AC2's unbelieveable graphics..." to ALL other MMORPGs. And you never posted what other MMORPGs you have played. What is left for one reading you post but to wonder why you never posted what other MMORPGs you have played?
I will give it to SWG ....The graphics are fine no doubt.
There you go! You now admit that the graphics in other MMORPGs can and do compeat vs the graphics in AC2. And thank you for listing what other MMORPGs you have played.
Oh, and regarding population on AC2,
In your original post:
Originally posted by Liqz (not for pop counts, rather in principal.)
you say you are not talking about AC2 population vs all other MMORPGs, but about AC2 graphics vs all other MMORPGs and their graphics. I responded to the specific subject you wanted to talk about - strictly AC2's graphics vs the graphics in all other MMORPGs.
I think he was referring to the "No Xploror" statement. It seemed like he was scared to hear what you had to say, or didn't want to hear it at all. I don't mind you hanging around the Asheron's Call 2 forums, but I do wonder why you post more about this game than most people that actually like/play Asheron's Call 2. Not saying I mind though, go ahead and keep bumping the AC2 threads.

What are you talking about? AO's graphics look nasty. DAoC doesn't have all the pretty landscapes that AC2 has.. high cliffs, valleys, complicated waterfall-lake-river systems..
AO has the exact same high cliffs, vallesy, and "complicated waterfall-lake-river" systems.
In fact, AO is the only MMORPG with every type of terrain except for Icebergs. Volcanos, (yes you can go into the lava inside the crater heheh.), mesas, plateus, the steepest cliffs in any MMORPG, valleys, hills, real mountains, woods, dense forests (and I mean like dense forests in real life!), grasslands, deserts, rivers, lakes, with underwater wildlife (yes sharks too! and more!), as well as shanty towns, wastelands, junkyards, and of course buidlings that players can go into
DAoC is quite flat really.
I will leave it to the lurkers to see if they share your opinion that AO's graphics "look nasty":
There is something called an opinion that you need to learn about.. when people say that an MMORPG is the best, most original one out there, they are stating their opinions. No amount of unrelated "facts" can counter a personal opinion of a game.
That I fully agree with - IF they post all the other MMORPGs they have played. There is also something called a valid opinion. Someone who has played just 1 MMORPG then says it is the best ever MMORPG has an invalid opinion. Others who post pointing this out are directing attention to this for all the lurkers.
Anyway, I made my point. The guy I was responding to came back and posted all the other MMORPGs he has played. Which turned his original invalid opinion, into a valid opinion.

Here you go starting up the name calling. When have I called you names? Now why are you starting to call me names? And I do not know anyone named "Fear", and I have never ever posted under any nickname "Fear". Completly other person with their own views you are talking about. That subject is over. I got you to post what other MMORPGs you have played. That way, I, and everyone else here, know you are in some position to compare the ingame graphics of AC2 to the ingame graphics of other MMORPGs. And again, thank you for posting what other MMORPGs you have played.
Yes I checked out your rpg webshots and saw your AC2 screenies from the beta. Don't be a hater, Xplororor.
A hater is someone who has no facts, evidence, proofs, to back up whatever points they make. Since I have always posted facts, proofs, and evidence, to back up my points, I am simply telling the truth. Now if you hate the truth, without trying to refute it with facts, evidence, and proofs, then who is the hater? Who is now resorting to namecalling?
Why don't you seek out the games you actually like and help get the people who are interested more involved. After all, thats why many people come to this website. They want to find out about new games, not hear some a$$hole make brilliant predictions like 4G MMORPGs are going to be soooo much better than the current ones. HA! No sh!t Sherlock.
More name calling by you? Whay are you calling me names? When have I called you names? People come to this site to find out good and not-so-good information about MMORPGs. Let them decide what they will read, and make their own decisions after reading what you write, I write, and everyone else writes.
Yea WoW and EQ2 are going to hurt AC2 bad, a point you were trying to make in a previous post. Guess what? They are going to kick the hell out of SWG also! I'd go play nice in the SWG forums if I were you, not be a dikk to everyone in the AC2 forums.
Stay on subject. This is about AC2, not SWG. (Alas, SWG is a successful game. It has more players on 1 of its 20+ servers than AC2 has in its entire game.) AC2 is part of the same generation as WoW, and EQ2.
Your ideas are unoriginal (if I have even heard any), your complaints are TOTALLY rehashed and every poster here loathes hearing your responses.
if you don't play and don't want to play, then take a f'king hike.
Forget about my ideas. What about my evidence, facts, and proofs? What about the evidence, facts, and proofs posted by other current AC2 players? Dude, AC2 had roughly 50,000 players during Beta all the way into its first 4-6 months of release. It now has roughly 6,000 players. Even after Turbine started to buy itself back from MicroSoft, the numbers have not drastically changed. If you do not see something dismally wrong, that is your choice. It is up to the lurkers, and other gamers, to decide on their own what to think, and do, after reading what you write, I write, and others write.
Current, most recent, subject in this here thread is/was: AC2's graphics vs the graphics of all other MMORPGs. The subject has/was discussed, and is over.
First, if you want to know what games I play, go ahead and ask like a civilized person. You don't have to coherse information out of me by flaming my post. Second, this post had nothing to do with DISPUTING the merits of Turbine's graphics engine; this post was for fanboys like me who want to talk about how they love AC2.
I just don't get you Xplororor ... you are a smart person, you know your stuff about video games... yet you come into these forums and throw around all these so-called "facts" and "truths" to no end other than to discourage people from playing AC2? If I am wrong, please do tell me what is your intent? What are you trying to factualize, what are you trying to prove?
People will know you by your actions and if you want people to respect your opinion you should at least take the OPPORTUNITY to try and respect theirs.
Regardless of what you are trying to debunk with your posts, many of us would like to see Asheron's Call 2 have at least a modicum of success.
I am, Maxxx. I've had a couple of very happy gaming years with both AC1 and AC2. I don't know of any other game that I've tried that has an in-game map as detailed or high quality as AC2's...and for the directionally impaired, that could make or break my stay in that world!
Yes, there was a time when AO's graphics were a major issue. However, in my humble 'opinion' , if you'd have actually been ingame lately, you'd be pretty impressed with the major improvments to the graphics, sound FX, music, battle sequence animations, emoticons, etc. I admit that as a loyal Citizen of Rubi-Ka, I'm probably a bit prejudiced. Maxxx is totally right about the armor graphics, too; & there's lots of awesome spell....errrr.... 'nano-program' execution graphics that'll blow you away, as well.
Before you think I'm on the wrong thread with my love of AO, I'm actually starting AC2 as soon as the download finishes. I tried to play it a while back, but we're having a nsaty hurricane season this year.
So thanks for the positives about AC2. It's nice to see that AC2 has as loyal a player/fanbase as AO. When I consider trying a new title, I think a positive player-community is just as important as the actual gameplay experience. If a game's over-run with griefers, it won't matter how good it a game it might be...because the hardcore players won't pay to support the griefers' ingame existence. That of course is also my own humble opinion.

I'm tired of hearing it too. You've told us many times your distaste for this game. You almost sound like a disgruntled ex-employee of Turbine.
Either that or something happened in AC2 to you that traumatized you and your trying to seek revenge.
But I think it's cause you enjoy the flames.

See you ingame! ~ spiritwolf
