Thumbs Up and Down (read me)

AkaJetsonAkaJetson Member Posts: 1,167

Well basically i think having a thumbs up and thunbs down feature next to each post would be good.

What you do is read the post, if you think it is a good post press the thumbs up button. If you think its a bad post press the thumbs down button. You can see the score of posts before you press the thumb. So for example if a post was voted thumbs up 5 times and thumbs down 3 times it would be +2.

I Apologise if this idea has already been suggested.

I'm not sure how this would work; this would mean you wouldn't be able to view posts by most recent?  Or are you suggesting a seperate menu for "best" and "worst" rated posts?

This addition is actually on the board as something we want to add to the forums, unfortunately it just isn't at the top.  I know I can think of many times I really wanted to rate a post up for being awesome or putting the smack-down.

There could be a feature on the main page, instead of (just)presenting the most recent topics... You could present the most hyped up topics for the day.

yeh i was sort of thinking a seperate menu for best rated posts and worst rated posts, so its optional whether you want it like that. Ty for your replies.

Would it be possible to keep track of the ratings a certain poster gets from his posts and have it be displayed under his post count?  I'm sure that all the trolls would get a bunch of thumbs down every time they bait people into a massive flame fest.

The only downside to this is that the trolls or people who wish to be asshats can abuse the system and downrate a relatively good post just to spite people and throw the system out of whack.

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
