Just google browser based games... thats probably as close as you're going to get to a MMO that you don't have to download.
I'm playing one called "Tribal Wars" which is ok if you've ran out of forums...

wurm uses java webstart to install so you don't need admin rights to install it.
ironrealms has a few text based games that you can use a java applet to run with.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
Did anyone mention Runescape?
There's also Gladiator... Think its Gladiator.com (or whatever country you are from, just put a .dk/.se/.co.uk after it)
