How does PVP work in AC2?

I had a lot of fun with PVP in EQ. It just brings another game within a game. Is it fun in AC2?

Assuming that you play on the "white servers" you won't have much pvp during the bottom levels, although there is an FFA area on Osteth.  Most of the kvk on the white servers is done on the hero island of arrmora.  Each of the three kingdoms (Order, Dominion, Shadow) have their own island with their own monsters (golems, virindi, shadows - respectively) that other kingdoms are able to attack and work their way to the fort.  Each fort is fairly different in how it is presented.  The Order fort has large walls and is seperated from the main island by a bridge.  The bridge is a great spot for tacticians to put up turrets and walls.  This bridge is guarded by 4 turrets other than those placed by tacticians.  Farther back there is a high wall that archers can perch on to pluck off their enemies.  The entrance is blocked by a large blockade which has a certain HP set before they can enter.  There are also turret powerups for the mega turret that give the mega turret extra bonuses when attacking the enemy kingdoms.  The main object of the kvk is to keep your guiding crystal alive so you can keep kingdom bonuses.

    For those assulting forts -

items are created at their respective bases that help them assult others.  This item is something that can be set up to catapult players over the walls.

    Other forts

Dominion - spiral rise high into the air.

Shadow - (haven't seen new look - i've only attacked doms)

The kvk on the white servers is very active so there is nothing to be worried about as far as activity is concerned.

Each ability the players use is 1/3 of the damage it normally would be, although there are a few exceptions.  Players gain kingdom points through kvk and this helps them unlock special abilities that only a certain kingdom can be granted.  Each kingdom has a sanctuary in the town of Ikeras which contains boons, some npcs, and portals to the three kingdom islands.

Turbine is working on even more dynamic kvk for closer to the end of this year.  Currently there is a battlefield area where kingdoms can claim certain areas and dungeons for themselves.  This will be expanded upon in some fashion and I am interested to see what they do with it.
