For the first time since I started watching this game it seems as if we might be actually seeing progress that lends to some play time for us faithful but discouraged followers of the game in the semi-near future. I am extremely eager to get my hands on this and see if all my wishes for a game that I might truly enjoy as much as UO are granted (given I was 15 when I started playing UO and had owned a comp for less than a month so my opinion of that game is slightly biased, well up until they destroyed it, but thats another bag of worms all together.) But either way I was just wondering if other people were starting to think the same thing or is this just ANOTHER false hope for the game that will never be release.

False hope an amusing concept. I see no reason to disbelieve that Darkfall will come, when is a different question I don't cry myself to sleep at night no not at all... I just hope that the game mechanics are sound well designed and the need for extensive beta isn't required. I hope this world will hold a few secrets and a bit of fun before spoiler heaven arrives.

I think they should take as long as they please, the only thing they've honestly done wrong is actually announce the game before they even really started development so they haven't had a chance to let people get a good feeling about the game, I really do hope they do get it done this year, it HAS certainly been quite awhile they've been developing it.

I'd say right now DF might be drawing near to letting the general public into their beta...on a limited scale for now. As to actual release date the earliest I think you could hope for is some time late next fall considering how ambitious their scope is versus the resources they've invested in it.

A person in the "Lords Of Death" guild have been in Aventurine S.A. and tried the demo and will soon write an article about it..
I cant wait for that "report".
And i guess we see beta this winter and a release in late 08.

Edit: ill give them till this significant gameplay journal, which should include proof if not then their still all talk and nothing to show.
DF will (most likely) come out, but my money would be 09 or later. In addition, I would put money on at least 1/2 of the promised features to be missing at launch.
I still think beta this winter (07/08).
And the report from Asp will hopefully give us some idea how the game is doing.
Whats better? Hurrying as fast as they can accidentally skipping over important things in the game just so impatient people can play it? Or taking a long time fixing every detail of the game so it's just right?
Im going for the second one.

When they actually start showing it at some shows, there might be some hope. Until then it will remain vaporware.
Could be that 2008 will be the year we finally see a beta, but then again that has been promised before...
LOL they have never said they have a beta date that there going to annunce as the official before this all there beta estimates where internal and not official you dont get Y they dont want to show it off at EA and crap theres company out there willing to steal there way of doing it LIKE aoc took some of there ideas Beta is this year so stop getting your panties in a bunch and stop calling it vaporware cause its annoying ,its your own damn opinion so keep it to your self we dont want to hear it

As for the it is near, I don't think so. I wish it was, but I'm not gonna worry over it. Let'em get it done.
DF will change the gaming world if they have devloped what they promised. Cant wait till beta starts.
