First there are many sick people in this planet who holds jobs that entails public trust. Second, they should do psychological and moral/character examinations of people who hold sensitive jobs. Third, posting message in forums can get you in jail or trouble (there are many examples of arrests that result in the offender bragging on the internet).
Prison is hard system , back in 90s and early 2ks , its very military like , the command and stuff. When I work in prison in Amarillo Tx , you had a major low ratio for guards to prisoners. All prisoners do , is work out , and figure out ways to abuse the guard. On some nights when I worked with my friend from Job Corps who help me get the job , we had guards who provoke the prisoners before our shift.
Very dangerous job , alot of the people in the system arent going anywhere , I ve personally used force and language to make sure I didnt get killed. Every prisoner , like it not , will kill a guard or rape a guard given a chance. I ve had crap thrown on me , I had to break up fights where the guy had a foot and 90 lbs on me.
My female friend who worked the control room to let visitors in and out , almost got assaulted by 2 immates, the aftermath , left one guard 5" long metal object sharp to a point in the chest and me with a broken hand. People in prison are animals , I couldnt do my job anymore without it getting to so I left.
Excessive force , law suits , people throwing thier bathroom waste on you , even some people going so far getting people to find your home phone / kids to mess with you. I dont know if people in prison are innocent or not , my time spent walking cells all I saw was people who worst of the worst.
I vote to strengthn death penalty everytime it comes up for a vote in texas. My family have been in law enforcement for years , if I had the power I d select to gas them all and let god sort it out. I ve seen 3 of the 10 guards I went to school with in Corpus Christy dead or hurt bad enough not to work anymore.
Granted some guards are bad , but force is so needed in alot cases.
Man, he must be a real fun guy, waving his e-peen at work AND at play.
If people don't like standards, codes of ethics, etc... when they hold a position of power which can easily be abused then they should quit. Plenty of folks would line up to fill in their spot. No one is forced to work in these environments against their will and if it's to much they should quit. Acting like a animal because you deal with people who behave like animals does not make it okay or alright in my book.

Wow your lack of logic and basic reasoning astounds me. Do you happen to work for some other 3rd world regime?

Here's a little food for thought.
Although the guy in the OP's story just seemed to enjoy hurting people and was attracted to the job because it gave him free license to do so. The real problem with law enforcement is that while the majority are honest, hard working, decent people, there is a notable number that are drawn to the profession for completely immoral reasons. There's also the problem of seeing the naked, screaming, ugly truth of the human condition day in and day out. It takes a very special person to walk through that and not be affected.
The biggest problems with our jail system today are the fact that people will not accept that some can't be rehablitiated and as such they need to be housed in a manner befitting that. The other problem is worrying too much about the quality of life for inmates. They shouldn't have work out equipment, they shouldn't have TV, They should be allowed books if they want to better themselves by getting a better education and they should be put to work. There should be more work programs in Jails that force the inmates to do something to repay their debt to society. Better education will allow the ones that are able to be integrated back into society the tools they need to be productive members of our communities.
It is ridiculous that people in Prison have access to food, tv, workout equipment, etc and there are working people in this country that can't afford all of those things.
Prison isn't a vacation and in no way should it be fun. Want to prevent people from going to prison then house them in solitary confinement for their entire prison sentences. No more prison gang violence, no more attacking prison guards, etc.

I love how people try and justify bad behavior with lame excuses. You're in a position of authority and was picked to uphold a HIGHER standard. Now of course there's going to be times where force is needed but you are to apply what is needed to subdue the culprit without malace..without prejudice.
We're going through a big ordeal where I live because the new police chief is holding his officers to a higher standar. The silly police union is trying to revoke his membership because he won't go along with the whole buissness as usual good ol'e boys network. Around here police confiscate items from drug dealers and instead of using the procedes for a wounded officers fund or charity their passing the goods off to officers according to rank.
Our new Police chief is trying to clean up shaddy tactics like this and I say more power to him!

I don't care what the person in prison did or did not do to get there... our legal system assigned the inmate his sentence, and it is the guard's responsibility to ensure it is carried out as it was decided in a court of law.
There is no justification for such horrible and illegal behavior on the part of the guard. Those who would defend him, or justify his actions are no better than murderers and thieves themselves.

Back before my stroke and PE , I was studying law and Criminal Justice , from what I ve seen there are people who cant be saved and there are people who are too soft on bad people. Unless you worked in a prison , or a worked in law enforcement , you really dont know how bad people can be.
Prisoners have nothing better to do but come up with ways to annoy , or hurt you. Most prisoners will repeat until they are put to death. While some people want to cuddle these guys, try to turn them into useful member , the fact remains , criminals will always be criminals.
Do a web search on the last 5 or 6 cases in your area , you see they are often carried out by the same repeat offender , and often times give lite treatment, which only allows them to repeat again.
Its the same with DUI folk , revoke thier license and put a GPS on them.
Anyone got a screenshot/ link to his posts?
The thing you don't seem to get is that we have a "one size fits all" method of punishment. The only difference between a theif and a murder is the duration of time that they spend locked up. Why is it that an otherwise law abiding person who gets caught with one joint gets locked up with serial killers child molestors, rapists, and other extremely violent offenders that fall between or across those categories?
Given, there are people that can't be reformed. However, there are also people that just made a mistake. When you lock these two groups up with one another the line between them disappears in a blind fight for survival. You may go in for a minor drug offense as an okay guy. After just a few days of a prison environment, you'll be scarred for life. Image how much more aggravated the mental damage is after two to five years
Let the punishment fit the crime and reserve prison for VIOLENT OFFENDERS ONLY!!!
This is all off topic, of course, so I'll hand the thread back to those that want to stay on topic.
