im just curious what race / career ya'll thinking about playing. me im think either chaos, or squib herder, but im also waiting to see the remaining classes i would like to see a ranged DE career that would be nice

40% of the player base are going to be Dark Elf females ... see Lineage 2 when it first released for an example.

Depends, while de and witch elfs in particular are somewhat appealing to teenagers, so are chosens (who wouldn't want to be a bad a** guy in dark armor) so are witch hunters, swordmasters and black guards seem pretty cool as well, and we still haven't seen 2 of each elf's classes. Although, the good guys always seem to have more numbers (daoc, wow etc)
I doubt 40% of people would be de, maybe 40% of destruction population (but then, 40% for de and chaos and 20% for greenskins seems about right) Still, as long as one of the sides isn't 3x more popular than the other it's fine. And mythic seems to be doing a pretty good job trying to balance the factions as far as "cool" things go.

It's still so far from release but the classes that interest me the most right now are
Empire : KoTBS
HE : Swordmaster
Dwarf : Engineer
Greenskins : Black Orc
DE : Black Guard
Chaos : Chosen
So basically the Tank Archtype
This is a pointless discussion though, every race is cool, every class is cool, it's Warhammer..there are no uncool races.
I'm currently thinking about the following (still waiting for the other elf classes):
Warrior Priest
Knight of the Blazing Sun
Orc Choppa
Sometimes I think it will be like 60%. Since every kid likes DE and every ghay would like to play "only female class".

~ The word "war" in the title.
Warhammer Online. World of Warcraft.
~ The word "dark" in the title.
Dark Age of Camelot. Dark Elves.
~ Victoria's Secret bikini armor.
~ Dwarves, Elves and "evil" races.

Some polls are showing Destruction to be a heavy favorite. However, I tend to think that once people get into the game, they will realize that both Order and Destruction have plenty of "coolness" factor making the whole good vs. evil thing a moot point.
As for me, I will probably play Order -- and most likely NOT a Dwarf (simply because I don't like the look of stumpies).
I also think to some degree, some people may choose a realm if the landscape is impressively done. Empire, for example, might be a favorite if the capital city and overall tier zones look good.
(Little bit of DAoC trivia I remember. A lot of people said they did not like to play Midgard simply because they felt the realm was "depressing." I did play all three realms and I concur that Midgard -- except for the snowy areas -- was a pretty darn depressing place. Both the Hibernia and Albion realms had a nicer "feeling" to them. That counts for something.)

I've been quietly mulling over playing a healer/support class. It seems they will be required to be in the thick of the fight to build Morale to use their best abilities, and if they offer good survival abilities to their realmmates, it might be a good way to go. Not as flashy as a high DPS class, but perhaps just as valuable.

So in your theory we all secretly want to play a game called Dark War where its all female elf races and classes that only wear crotch and nipple guards.. I tell you what that does sound tempting.
Although I dont know if i want to see a dwarf in that setup.
Reading some of the posts here I have found that alot of the players that are going Destruction are players of the TT game with Chaos or Dark Elf armies. So I'm sure it's nostalgic for those guys. I think I have seen one person who said they played with a dwarf army. I never played the TT unfortunately so I have no favortism from that aspect.
I agree with Uraziel though imo all the Warhammer classes look cool as hell. I myself will most likely play whatever side is the underdog and try to find a nice guild with heavy pvpers.
Thats funny because I always found HIbernia to be wayyyy tooo fancy smancy cutey pie for me. I played Mid and Alb. I think you are right though it effects some people. Most people do not like dismal weather such as grey skies and rain. Others find it soothing like me, but most people like the sunny and bright weather. Mid used alot of greys and hib used alot more vivid colors with greens, golds, etc. I think it does affect players.
Probably Chaos Chosen for me...
Thought I'm waiting for more information on the last 4 careers before I narrow my decisions down even more.
P.S. Why does my return key on these forums create two line breaks instead of one? Feels really wierd....

I think the dwarfs look cool, but I know that my taste isn't mainstream, so I agree dwarfs will be the most underplayed.
So far I have changed my mind 4 times. Partly due to the options for female destruction tanks.
Anyway I am thinking dwarf ironbreaker atm, but we have all agreed to try a few classes before we settle into our mains.

I'm thinking of starting with a: Dark Elf Black Guard
