I NEED HELP PLEASE

in Perfect World International

So far i already downloaded Perfect World off mmosite.com using Gigaget....now i don't know what to do, i try opening it on Gigaget only the internet explorer pops and exits like in 1 sec.   Perfect World is in Gigaget saved and completed, but now i don't know how to get it installed and play it.  I need help and guidance on how to get it installed in my computer wihout that internet explorer poping up.  I kept trying to open it, but it always pops up that dam internet explorer and then closing and then nothing happens.  (Right now it's sitting in Gigaget cause im clueless, my first time using it).

    I downloaded the client last night from Filefront and had no problems with the installation.  There was a compressed folder with the game files in there that you need to run an installer from and also a web link on the desktop to the US web page.  I got the client in probably about 90 minutes.

    My problem however, was that after creating my account, I could access the web site with my user/pass, but could not sign into the game.  I am going to try again tonight though, it may just have been some lag after my account was filed.

    It should be on your hard drive. run a search from the startmenu for PerfectWorld_ENG_FullClientv126.exe this should be the file name. it will extract it to a specified directory then you must go to the directory and click on install.exe

    ok Jay8378, i did the search for Perfect World from the start menu search, and it's there, but then i got confused from there.  U said that it will extract it to a specific directory, but i didn't see it extract anything.  Am i suppose to extract my self and if so, tell me how step by step.  Cause it says that it opens with Internet Explorer and it a RAR file and etc. Im confused on when u said it will extract to a directory and from then on.

     

    Jay's directions :

    1. Start menu Search for perfect world  (done it and found it in search results)

    2. "It will extract it to a specific directory"  (clueless on how to do that and make that happen)

    3. "then you must go to that directory and click on install.exe"  (Clueless on that and yet to figure how to do that)

     

    Please Jay8378 guide me through the steps or anyone can help me that will be helpful  

     

    P.S. it got moved to the Downloaded part under the game folder on Gigaget, if that info helps at all or u can tell me what folder to move it to.

    Okay, i think i might see a difference in the file i downloaded from mmosite.com (correct me if im wrong)

    The Perfect world file that im downloading from the link that Jay gave me is titled PerfectWorld_ENG_FullClientv126.exe (with the exe at the end) and the one i downloaded is titled perfectworld_eng_fullclientv126 (without exe at the end) does it make a difference or no?  Im trying to clear things up and try to get this darn game installed but i am totally confused. 

     

    Anyways i'll download perfect world from the link Jay gave me and see what happens (which I am downloading right now). 

    1 min later...

    So right now i see a differences between the downloads i got off from the site and the link jay gave me.  Jay's perfect world link download  says it's a application while the mmosite one says :RAR file (on Gigaget).  I guess jay's one will actually allow me to install it since im believeing it will judging from it saying application and have exe at the end of the file name.  We'll just see   and if it works i will kiss my computer (not really :P)

    Let the 9-10hr wait begin! (for the 5th time -_-)

    well it is a self extracting archive. when you click on it it will ask you where you want to xtract it. so make sure you note where you extract it. you best bet is the desktop.

    ok Jay8373, the link you gave me so i can download Perfect World keeps timing out at 80% on Gigaget and i ALREADY tried 2 times! and i seriously mad (not at u).....is there any other way cause downloading the same file twice and both timing out at 80% is seriously not making my days any better.  Is there any other links i can try?  I've already tried downloading Perfect World on Gigaget like 10 times at most...

    you might have a network problem if it keeps timing out. check with your isp.

    Why don't you just download a copy of WinRAR and use the one you already downloaded? If it's a RAR file then it's just compressed and WinRAR will uncompress it for you.

    thanks for all that info on how to download Perfect World and make it work, but since the application type of file for Perfect World that actually completed, got a data4.pck corruption.. i just gave up and left it at that , too mad to go on trying...I'll just wait till Open Beta, it wasn't worth a week of trying to play Closed Beta, well trying to get the file to download and then install.

    Thanks for everyones help! hope see u guys in OB (now that i know about WinRAR  , thanks Bren)...Just one question, how or what is the URL for the Perfect Word file for filefront.com?
