Horizons: Win An Alienware PC!

Artifact Entertainment has just teamed up with Alienware to offer a chance for all players who download their free trial of Horizons to win a fully loaded Area 51 system!  Here are the details:


LOS ANGELES (July 9, 2004) - Only 22 days left to get in the game! For a limited time, when gamers download a free demo of Horizons: Empire of Istaria, the epic adventure massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Artifact Entertainment, fans will have a chance to enter and win a fully-loaded Area-51(tm) gaming system from Alienware(r). The PC boasts an exclusive Alienware(r) ATX case, Intel Pentium 4 processor, 1GB SDRAM and NVIDIA(r) video card.

To enter the contest you need to download the game at this link.  This will give you a code that you can enter at this link.

    Was told that the code was invalid when I attempted to enter it on the Alienware.com site.

    Heh, the next major news i expected from HZ was its cancellation. This is merely an attempt to fix a dying game. PvE only games just dont work.

    maybe cuz you have to use the code you get when you d/l the trial?? worked fine for me

    What code?  The only code I got when I downloaded was the CD Key which did not work.  Clicking the Alienware ad on http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm?loadnews=1940 brought up the form with a code already entered, which also did not work.

    Yeah, I got owned as well.  Spent 45min downloading a 1gig trial - they give me a code to get the trial code (tried both of those) and then now I'm playing.  At no time did they give me a code for the Alienware contest.  I feel ripped.

    I searched everyhwhere for the code to enter into the Alienware PC contest, but I can't find it.  I played Horizons before, for exactly one month and it was the 30 free trial after I bought the game.  I only downloaded it again for the chance to win an Alienware and now that doesn't even work.  Nothing about Horizons is any good it seems.

    Didn't work for me either. Would be nice if someone that got it to work would post some real info on what they did. Only number I got was the Key they sent me in e-mail that you use to set up the game. The instructions say you get it from GameSpy sight. They should make it a little clearer. Any real help would be nice.

    Okay.. as I mentioned I got screwed on the code - much like everyone else.

    I decided - hey, I downloaded a gig - might as well try the game out.  Played dragon for about 30min - hit lvl 3.. died.  Uninstalled it and cancelled my subscription.  Seemed an alright concept.  The graphics looked great and you always got lots of loot.  The rest seemed blah.  Of course, this is coming from someone who played for less than an hour.

    The current version of Horizons is an atrocity of what it should have been before they fired development team and removed 90% of the original ideas ::::36::

    What do currently subscribed customers get for their commitment
    to the game?

    They should at least honor the ones that have stayed the tide of
    changes as well as the new-comers.

    same here as all u guys....both codes do not work (one code is actually CD key that was sent to email, other is generated when u clice on the puter add).

    Like another poster said....seems like anything Horizons touches does not work.

    Any admins out there able too look into this?

    No luck here either. Tired both codes (cd and Security ones) and both are invalid for contest.  Sent a bunch of emails out for info on it.  Hope they hurry since only 6 days left of trial.

    ty kunou thats all the way better to know that you are working on it guys image as dont hear/see any word about it.

    I hope that alienware will  fix this soon.

    Ya, I sent an e-mail into FilePlanet/Gamespy informing them their code didn't work...  still awaiting a reply...


    Fact: In the United States, 4% of all children are born with a heart defect.
    Fact: Only 1% of those has Ebstein's Anomaly.
    Fact: My daughter is in that 1%.

    I am having the same problem as well.  The only 'code' I get form the whole process is the game key code and it does not work on the alienware site.  I, also, sent in a query to fileplanet for some help on this matter and am still waiting for a reply.  I'll post here with whatever they send back.

    All,

     Fileplanet has notified me that this has been corrected.  Go back and click on the link which automatically fills out the code (like AWHORIZONS) or something like that.

     

    Fill the form back in and submit.  I just did it and it worked.

    Bah, just downloaded it again - another gig of downloading and no code.

    I don't know what everyone is smoking to get this to work right - but this is bugging me out.

    On the right you will see "Horizons & Alienware Sweepstakes". Click that link and it will put you on the Alienware page with your code populated to enter into the sweepstakes.
