this is such a good thing, now i can quit checking my emails every 12 hours hoping i got a beta invite. LoL. Maybe my blood pressure will go down until december when they reopen.

It's not the end of beta. It is a break, until they roll out the new build in December.
Maybe this is the reason for the Dev Chat... To sooth everyones fears about the beta closing for 2 months.
Kind of feel sorry for all the people who were promised invites by the end of summer at various game days. Now it looking like mid-winter at the earliest.
If not the reason then it's going to be the focus of it anyway! Get us the details MMORPG.COM, this is big news.
I've never heard of a MMOPRG closing down a beta and restarting it before, what games have done this? Mythic has seemed to be keeping to their schedule, I wonder this means there will be a change in the release date.
That, out of any other question, needs to be asked tomorrow.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if it got pushed back. The whole thing with unveiling a huge chunk of content (the elves) and having virtually no in-game pictures/videos/renders of them this close to release was what put the first red flag up.

I suppose they're gonna do some major focused revamps to stuff they encountered already during beta. You know, to fix things up or change others that need be with all their attention, instead of having loads and loads of issues to look after in a pop-up manner as generally occurs with betas.

Wow this is suprising to say the least. My guess is we'll see the release date pushed back next. I guess its a good thing though. Nobody wants a rushed, buggy end product. Its just disappointing to know that there wont be any beta invites going out for the next two months. I feel for everyone that was promised invites by summers end and got the shaft. That definetly wasn't a good move by Mythic.

Tentonhammer should be punished for breaking the NDA agreement. What is posted on that board should not be released AT ALL until mythic publicly releases it!

I agree. There's been a lot of strange happenings with how WAR has been handled in beta in retrospect, and I'd hate to see something bad happen to something as promising as this.
My guess is this.
They will re-open beta in December and offer some pre-order get into beta deal to try and get in on some Christmas sales since the game won't be out for a few more months after that.
As to why they are doing the downtime... I'd guess it's because of the major world additions (elf/dark elf regions, city battles, animations, new models/etc). Those are all major downloads. This will give them time to get the world looking and acting like they want without having the testers outside of EA/Mythic downloading gigs of data every day.

Oh, I see now (especially after the edit); you're one of the witch hunters that would go around trying to get people kicked from the beta for NDA violations in hopes of taking their spot. Grow up.
That's still not a whole lot, the part that really bothers me is the nigh-total lack of information on the website about the classes. Something isn't totally right here. Especially in comparison to the other races.
