This game is terrible...
Aww who am i kidding I love this game Im going to buy as soon as its released. I mean its kinda carebearish but its still pretty fun to play. and its got so much potential. i love the fact that it possible to solo almost anything. well with a little luck and timing its possible. i havent traded for a modified weapon or armor yet and i havent crafted anything. i havent even done many quests.
Man what the hell have i been doing for three weeks. i dont know but ive been enjoying myself.

People have forgotten what FUN is. TR puts the FUN in gaming and makes you feel immersed in it. Its not a chore like all other games where you punch a time card and get performance reviews from your peers like its a job. This game is so fun that In also have quake wars full version installed and havent even played it because of TR.
I agree it is a refreshing switch to see a blend of some of my old favorites MMO's into something that breathes new life into a genre that has grown stale and bittier with level grinds and credit spammers.
Tabula Rasa is by far one of the best MMO's I have seen to date and has already succeeded in securing my membership.
I am excited at the prospect of where they could run with this.
yea i agree, this game is just pure fun, and focuses pure on fun. In many other mmos, you maybe have fun 20% of the time, and are feeling like you are at work 80% other procent of the time, this feels like you are having fun 90% of the time.
Like yesterday, i had just solod a bunch of missions, which in one mission, the mission was crowded. on that mission i should destroy a bunch of nests, and i when i was down to the last one, a one guy came along and destroyed the last one, and even dough he was 3 levels above me, and we where both rangers, i challenged him to a dual ....and won :-).
Later i went to Terracosa Prison (or what the instance is called), with 2 other people, and we had great fun.
Even dough it was a strait forward mission we had some great fun, like there was a bug* so only one of our 3 manned fellowship could enter a force shield, so we two other had to find a other way around. I also learned the effectiveness of emp-bombs, which i never used before.
*(Bugs dosent bother me since i played SWG (Ex SWG VET))
We also did Timora mines, and had some trouble with some of the boss mobs, like those NASTY Caretaker Chief Surgeons (strongest nastiest mob iv seen yet).I mean i played for 5 hours (which is a long time for me, to stay interested in the a game at a time), and had great fun for 4½ hours :-).
If this game gets stabile by release, and with a faster connection (which properly will happen because we will get the good release servers, instead of these small cheep test servers), it will surely take up a hell lot of my time.
The only reason why i havent pre-ordered yet, is that i once pre-ordered DnL, which was the worst game ever made (and i also played GORE once), since then i havent dared to pre-order any mmo, no matter how good they sound or feel.
Tabula Rasa? Great, pure fun!
Your kidding right? You signed up to make this one post about TR?
Richard G...is that you?
This has to be an NCsoft employee.
Desperation is not a good thing.
I guess, to some, running headlong into a concrete wall at full speed could be considered an "exciting prospect"...
Anyone even considering buying this train wreck of a game should try the $5.00 preorder.
If you buy blind, be ready for some serious disappointment.
Heavens forbid that people actually might find TR interesting enough and yes....fun enough to want to play.
The *only* useful thing you've managed to post is referencing the 5$ pre-order. The 5$ investment should be enough to let anyone make up their OWN minds as to how they like or dislike it.
I myself have been enjoying the beta for the last several months, in spite of some of the setbacks and issues, and yes, I have every intention of subscribing.
Heavens forbid that people actually might find TR uninteresting enough and yes....crapy enough to want to not play.

I myself have quit the beta after few days, in spite of some of the setbacks and issues, and no, I have no intention of subscribing.
Well said, i dont get their "because i dont like the game, NO ONE SHOULD". it reminds me of fascism.
I can give you of games i dont dislike but other people do,
Maifa (Tps game)
Halo 1(FPS game)
Gothic3(RPG game)
i found these games INCREDIBLE bording, but i dont get mad and start screaming CONSPIRICY because other people write that they like it.. GROW UP!!
I was actually sceptical about the game, before i got in the beta, mainly because the "TPSmmo" has been tried in SWG, and that ruined the game (ex pre NEG SWG vet), but when i got to try the beta i was pleasant surprised. I had fun almost admittedly. This is accualy the first mmo, that i care about level development. Before it was more of a
"oh well" choor than anything fun, and i got very disappointed when they increased ac2 (also ex vet) 50 levels to 150. Now i think levelling is fun, but its not the only fun thing. So far i find almost every aspect of the game fun (not crafting, but i have NEVER enjoyed crafting in ANY mmo i played (alot i played LOTS))
Well, apparently a mod on here thinks it's okay for you to flame me, but I am not allowed to flame back...
The game is a train wreck, try before you buy or you will be sorry.
UPDATE
i got to read your post and i can still answer you.,
LOL im not a NCsoft employee, and the only other RIchot griott games iv tried before i CoV, which i only played to level 20, and dident find it fun. WHY do it piss you off that i like the game? why must it be a conspiracy? there are alot games that is strange, that is popular, look at some of the asian mmos for instance, or look at the sims? the sims have sold millions of copys (accualy the most sold frenchaise game in denmark where i live(2 mill, in a 5 mill pop country)) which is a big mystery.
Plz answer be, why do you get so mad and start screaming conspiracy when people write that they like it?
The post wasn't to you.
Shhh, no need for you to say anything about it.
tabula rasa has gameplay problems
they are working on them however its already been said not all of the planned content will be worked out at launch, however from the plans they have in the works for content after launch its possible they might fix them a few months after launch.
So basically the game will not be where it should be at launch its possible they could make it better its going to come down to how well they do on the addtions.
The game need improvement they are working on it, their are plenty of player who don't like it right now. The game will be made or broke for many players by how well they do with the addtional content that will be added a few months after launch
Hehe I love threads that end in Flame wars.
It's hilarious, people are so desperate to cry out their enthousiasm they forget to tell us what's actually good in the game so we might wanna discuss it, and ultimately make 'em see it's rubbish.
Could they be afraid of us telling them the truth ?
the best blog of the net
The big problem is that all this additional content they are gassing on about (but not actually committing themselves to delivering), shouuld actually already be in the game BEFORE it goes live, certainly NOT 6 months after.
What they are doing is asking people to pay to play an extended open beta nad be patient with them while they try to make this trainwreck look better.
the best possible thing they can do is to roll the launch back 6 months and release a complete product, not something half-baked underdone and unfinished
If someone is afraid of the thruth it seems to be in almost ALL CASES YOU my friend, just look at ALL you post, not one was construcitve towards the game. Allmost every post was to discredit other poeple's opinion. Now if you ask for something should you not show that you can do the same?

The negatives of the game have been elaborated on in detail by quite a few posters in this forum. Good points are rather less apparent.
After yesterday's patch, the game has pretty much become unplayable for most classes. Hint to the developers: major generic balance changes this close to release = BAD idea. Should have been dealth with in closed beta. Concentrating on adding blatantly missing and broken missions (22+) = GOOD idea.
Also: promising a fun, fast, non-grind and 100% solo friendly game and delivering a slow, painstaking grindfest that requires grouping (as of last patch before live) = BAD idea.
Linna
Some people liked Dark and Light too. Doesn't mean it was anything else than a huge stinking pile of cow cr*p.
People will vote with their wallet and I just don't see more than a handful hardcore fans paying a monthly fee for this game.
I'm really looking forward to everyone eating their posts when the game comes out. H4W H4W H4W!

Again Linna you're right, but unfortunately the game won't be launched like this. Either these problems will be fixed or it will be pushed back again. We know the game can't be launched like that, and they know they can't launch a game like that. If they did it would fail. If I were them I'd shut down open beta for a month at least until they fixed a few things so all these chimps can stop their complaining. Warhammer had it right when they closed their beta for a couple months. When it opens expect a change. The problem is, NCsoft jumped the gun. Theres nothing they can do about it now, but if they were smart they'd push it back just a little bit longer. If they fixed it all and allowed players to see what the game will be like as it shapes up it will increase sales instead of losing them.
Most of the people that aren't happy with the game now, are people who wouldn't be happy with the game nomatter what they did with it. Mr. I loved the june patch out there would be saying something completely different if it was the same build they were going to release today. If the company isn't a bunch of morons they will not launch until most of these problems are fixed. If for some reason they do launch in this state, well at that point, theres no saving them. I'm just an advocate of not making a decision until "the fat lady sings" so to speak.

Heh... it all depends on the marketing people at this point. Marketing people can have REALLY strange ideas about games and gamers. I'm pretty sure THEY are pushing for a release in time for X-mas shopping. It's hard to say how much more delay they're going to put up with. Maybe they want to go the cynical route, by selling as many boxes as they can and dropping the game as soon as the subs start to fall.
From all the bugs I've logged (300+), I'm pretty sure this game isn't anywhere NEAR release, and desperately needs some more months of testing. And yes, preferably in closed beta, for obvious reasons. After a day of testing the current patch, i've decided they can go train monkeys to do the testing for all I care, I'm not logging in until they fix that crap.

I had more fun playing the game last night than I have at any time during beta, there was actually a bit of challenge to it. Overall the patch was CLEARLY a step in the right direction. And encouraging grouping is something EVERY MMO needs to do or else it will be a pointless failure.
And FYI this is NOT the last patch before live.
I just cant believe you could honestly use the word fun i the same sentance as this game. Its is the most pointless and fun free grind since VG and at least VG had some variety to pad out the mindless mouse clicking posing as gameplay.
Your comment about Quake Wars was also completely baffling to me because I also have QW and it was QW that really put in perspective for me what a stupifyingly boring game TR is.
Im just going to assume your all joking because that way my brain doesnt hurt thinking about how anyone could actually find this game enjoyable. I can only put it down to either your brilliant senses of humour or your gnat like attention spans..... I hope its the former and not the latter

MMO's in all actuality are boring. Almost all of them were completely boring grinds with no real change in gameplay. WoW is just the most popular of all the boring games out there to play. The point of playing them is because you are in a world with people, playing a game that you somewhat enjoy regardless of the boring mechanics. You may find this game boring. But then again I find WoW boring, Vanguard boring, and just about every other game on the market boring. I loved SWG's. But to alot of people that game was boring to. To the people who really had a relation with a certain game of choice, it's not boring to them.
Alot of people play F2P games, and find them immersive. I can't stand 90 percent of them, and the other 10 percent is just a waste of time because the communitys in F2P games are full of people who only play F2P games and have no respect for it, or who plays them.
Tabula Rasa isn't boring to me, outright, especially with the increased difficulty. The boringness happens when I get done with a mission and can't complete it. The game still has potential. All anyone can do is just wait and see.
Maskedweasel (love the name) you hit the nail on the head with "MMO's are essentially boring". I mean look at my quote that I have had for like 2 years on my sig.
"MMO's for people that think chatting is like a skill or something"
Having said that I remain a devoted fan of the genre because the rare jewels are so worth fishing through the mounds of rubble.
Unfortunately this game has squandered the opportunity to be a rare jewel and has just added to the mountain of rubble. Yes it may change but that is also part of the overall problem with MMO's, everyone has accepted the pattern of releasing broken crap in the hope they can get enough cash rolling in to improve it.
I have certainly not written off this title 100%, but from what we were told it would be to what it is..... is a gulf like the grand canyon. They have a lot of shovel work to do if they are going to fill that hole.... and I seriously doubt it can be done. I hope Im wrong because like all of you I want to play the game I saw being demo'd at pervious E3 shows.... this is certainly a pale shadow of that game.
