ummmm i seriously doubt the control scheme is gonna be like ETM, its most likely gonna use the standard MMO controls (so no need for a pad)

although, it IS really nice to use joytokey and a good controller anyway. Having all the buttons/macros you need bound to buttons on a controller is very nice. You can also emulate mouse controls on teh controller, and sequences. I'm thinking maybe it would come in handy if there's any kind of combo system in this game, as far as linking fighting moves.

It is possible to use a gamepad, through direct support or emulation, for MMORPGs. I have to tell you, it really does increase the immersion to have a controller in your hands.

Mind you it gets annoying to toss the controller to talk to someone, then hastily snatch it back while you get pounded on by *insert obscenely powerful creature here*. That being said, it is really nice to use a gamepad.

Actually, I personally use a modified Panther DX controller using joytokey. The controller itself sits in my lap (it's that big), has 17 buttons, an optical track-ball (added that myself), and a control stick. ( http://clana3d.org for more on panthers and mods)

i hope the game will also have some roleplaying aspects and then you can't use a joypad because you can't write with it.

If you didn't know Karaha USB support don't take away from the game it adds to it. This type of support is generally in fighting games so I hope it will come to past for MxO. Changing the normal Keymap is good if it will bind all the movements and attacks to a pad leaving more keyboard space for macro commans so you tell me this! If you play a fighting game oh lets say Street Figther and couldn't do a 360% Super Grab rofl wouldn't a macro be good or better a PAD rofl.

I find much more control and stability in using a mouse and keyboard than from a tiny thumbstick.::::28::

With MMO's it is almost always more logical to use a keyboard, so I don't think you should worry about using a gamepad.

i prefer a keyboard and mouse to a controller. you have way more options available for redefining controls. you just have to get used to using a keyboard/mouse that's all.

The use and interfacing the "Matrix" in the movies would be mostlikely reflected in this game. Which means a keyboard layout, not much chance for a joystick.
