Star Wars Galaxies.
I reckon it could easily keep you entertained until the big games release.
I'm not saying it's the best game out there, but I reckon it's the best one NOT on your list.
Yeah i already am signed up for that but September is around the time 1 or 2 of the big names are released... so i doubt ill be playing wish much.

Saga of Ryzom was open beta, (but they closed it to make improvements, I dunno if it's open again).
I played for a while, but wasn't keen. Looked like it might have potential though.
As I mentioned before... SWG is pretty good... And no I'm not some crazed Star Wars fanboi - I cancelled after 9 enjoyable months, I just honestly think it'd be a good enough time sink before EQ2.
www.fileplanet.com has a 14day trial of SWG for download
I'm downloading a 14 day trial from gamespot instead.

I didnt think Another World was an Army game and its Free...That perticular site doesn't impress me much in the way of security. Thanks though.

Check out Neverwinter Nights, its not massively multiplayer, but it has great multiplayer support and it plays like alot of the other bioware titles (baldur's gate, torment, Icewind dale etc..). It's cool because there are so many full player developed worlds in it, so if you get bored of one, you can just move on to the next, and there are no monthly fees.
It looks like army game if you played it... russians made it.

Check out FFXI to tide you over until The Matrix Online goes into open beta in a couple of months.
It is not a MMORPG, but despite it many flaws, you try Vampire the Masquerade online with friends you trust and learn to enjoy the company?
Despite it flaws, I play it once and still appreciate it no matter what, it is more like playing into the weird dreams of a Ravnos perception of the World of Darkness then actually playing in the World of Darkness, still, can be fun...

SWG is so hard to navigate with... the controls are nothing like ive experienced before. I couldn't find myself enjoying it.

If you want an MMO with at least a good community, then please don't go with SWG.
I could bet that if SWG didn't have the "star wars" in it, no one would give a damn about that game. It doesn't feel like "star wars" at all.

How about wwiionline......gfx arent up there with the best of them at the moment but as a combined war sim there really is nothing to touch it at the moment.
SWG hard to navigate...?
I didn't think it was all that different from City of Heroes. After a little experimenting and playing I found it to be second nature - I liked being able to move with the arrow keys and use the mouse to do other stuff like manage inventory etc. Ah well each to their own!
You could try Legend of Mir 3 (Run by QGO) when goes Open Beta in august/september. It's a 2D MMORPG but it is great fun to play and it's very easy to pick up the basics and get into the game.
Legend of Mir2 is being run by Game Network and the servers are down a lot so I can't recommend it even though Mir2 is a great game
