Yes watch the video first, no it's not a fake, I just caught this on the TV.
Yes folks WoW is officially "not cool" now. They used alliance to kill a dragon with a pick up truck. My time for playing WoW is now quickly coming to an end. I was going to hold out until WAR released, but I know not if I can still stay.
Games and advertising real products... uhg! Just not a fan of it. What's next?
"Soon, you too can join up and find that epic adventure as your power up for breakfast! Yes introducing new Horde and Alliance Breakfast Cereal! Now with EPIC PURPLE MARSHMELLOWS!"
or worse.... "WoW epic flask Sodas! Now you can not only power up in game, but also while doing work, shopping and playing!"
Mastercheif has nothing on WoW now.
The edge was seen, they got close with the South park show, but it's south park and damn it was cool enough to make it alone, but this.. this is just madness.

As long as they're not advertising in-game I really wouldn't care what a game was promoting. Unless you're one of those weird RP'ers who have their gaming experienced dulled by the UI, it has no effect on the quality or fun factor of the game whatsoever.

Eh... WoW is pretty much a mainstream game. It's really no surprise that they're using the game to advertise real world items now. Would you really be all that surprised if there was WoW cereal?
Or who knows... Maybe the next time you grab a box of Lucky Charms there will be a DVD in the box for a free 14 day trial of WoW. :P

You have a thing or two to learn about carrying out an effective argument. Perhaps instead of dumbing down everyone's opinions and throwing out personal attacks, you could actually discuss the issue at hand?
What if, say, Bioshock started advertising for the Coca Cola company. Get free Bioshock prizes for drinking coke! Would you all of a sudden say "Oh, well now I'm just not going to finish playing Bioshock because of this"? If so, that would seem to be quite absurd. Bioshock is a magnificent game; who they advertise for has no effect on that fact whatsoever.

Read my post. I didn't say you were a WoW hater. I said your post looked like one a WoW hater would write, and that it's illogical for you to assume that your audience could decipher your true intentions.
One question: Why do YOU care?
It doesn't affect how you play the game, so why care?
