Why I wouldn't play WoW at this time. (related to expensions)

Well, I don't own WoW and the thing is, I would not buy it because basicly there's 2 expensions. I played DAOC, but the difference between them I could buy a gold buddle for all the exps for DAOC.. As WoW, I'd have to buy the game, then buy, crusader and then buy the new expension.

Let's just say that would be abit too expensive for "WoW".

I like WoW, I played it... I was in the beta test. And I tried it afterward as trial. However until they make somekind of bundle, there's no way I'd join up lol.

Anyway thats my opinion. :P

Maybe I'm just confused but blaming WoW for it's pricing strategy now after 2 years when which you could have purchased the game at any time seems like a lame excuse for not buying the game now.

But like I said....maybe I'm just confused by your post.

edit:  You could simply buy the first edition and that alone will give you hours of play.  It's not like you are going to miss the expansions for the first couple of months.

Wow's really cheap right now(19.99) the lowest price it's ever been., If you've never played why would you buy the expansion right away? The newest expansion isn't out till next year for that matter. Weird post.

Actually...I was over at Gamestop yesterday and lo' and behold I saw the World of Warcraft Battle Chest. Regular edition WoW and BC for 39.99. So...you got your bundle.

Not worth replying to half-assed comments, however, it's not about the expansion it's about the fact that you cant buy them togheter...

Two expansions?  Is there something I don't know?  Wrath of the Lich King isn't supposed to be out for another year.

Older games always cost less than newer games. You can play a text-based MUD for free - why would you play DAoC?  You can go outside and take a walk without even having to buy a computer or pay for an internet connection - why would you play any computer games at all?

I can list a lot of reasons not to play WoW, but cost isn't one of them.

awesome, I looked like  a few weeks ago and didn't find it... and i didint know the lich king expansion wasnt out :o

Well at this point cost not being in but I was thinking

40ish+40ish+40ish= 120ish for a game and then monthly paiment.. anyone sane getting my drift?

But I looked and it seems now WoW regular is cheaper and lich isnt out yet so yeah.

I think something along the lines of.  you're never going to see the 'real' content of the first game since it's nearly pointless to play it with the expansion.  then after waiting a year to finally get the chance to grab the epic gear(building up dkp) the people who already have it are going to abandon the guild for the expansion raiding.  since chance are blizzard isn't going to release stuff as powerful as the epic gear in the first few levels.

then if you join after that expansion you have 70 levels without the 'real' content of WoW to catch up with everyone else.

'real' content in WoW is the raiding, if you can call it content.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

Yeah they said Lich king should be around Q3 next year, but if you were planning on getting into WoW I would wait until Patch 2.3 drops. XP changes for levels 1-60 so the grind is less tedious ( and trust me when I say that grind can get reallllly tedious).

    ?

You can reach max lvl so fast in WoW it aint even funny, what's tedious about it, must have missed it.

Well I haven't level a toon since before BC came out, but I remember the grind from 40-60 on the Horde side seem to take forever. Tons of trips to Tanaris and Feralas. Maybe it's changed a bit but from what I hear 2.3 will make the trip from 1-58 even quicker.

Theoretically, if you placed 50 cents in a jar, every week since WoW was released, you would have more than enough to purchase the expansions, along with some caffeine drinks to aid you in your splurge of playing.

IMO, complaining about the price of a game is not related in any way to its playability.
