Tired of "Looking for an MMO" posts

CzzarreCzzarre Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 3,742

ok, This is a great site to discuss MMORPGs  past, present and future.

However, I am getting tired of all the "LOOKING FOR A NEW GAME" threads. I do believe that this is a great site to find out new games to try ...But I wonder if  we should have a new board dedicated for these "LOOKING FOR A GAME" threads.

UPDATE 10-18-07

I sent an email about this suggestion to the MMOROG admin email. Within 3 days they sent me an email saying great suggestion and a NEW FORUM HAS BEEN MADE!!!!

LOOK HERE! Its in the main General section of the boards called  LFGame

you can't ignore those posts.... because?

pretty simple concept really, if you don't like a certain type of post, ignore it!

Agree with the new board idea.

well, i dont like this thread.

But, thats doesnt mean it doesnt have its place in these forums and it doesnt mean we should create a new forums just for "i m tired of ...posts"

you could just try not reading them.

However much sense it makes to advocate ignoring something you don't like.. on a thread you don't like..

Anyway, I think a forum like that would be quite useful. I'd use something like that.

Actually, I do read them and respond. I dont mind helping people find a new game when the old one loses its luster.

My thinking is that multiple random postings by many individuals asking the same question. Each post may get a few responses but is ofen very quickly spammed off the main boards. Multiple people then come and repost asking the same question. Each not knowing of the past threads and unable to use the responses to perhaps guide them as well...its just inefficient.

Me not reading the posts ,sure helps me ..but it doesnt help the numerous people who are making the threads looking for the answer to very similar questions ("Where should I go now").

I think a board dedicated to this would give people a place to start their search and easily find other posts which they can learn what people have suggested.

Post 1. Im looking for a good PvP game --> Response 1, Response 2, Response 3

Post 2. IM looking for a new game that has a lot of Roleplaying --> Response 1, Response 2

Post 3. Is there any F2P MMORPG with a large population and good end game content? --> Response 1, Response 2, Response 3, Response 4.

    etc

Rather than fix them, perhaps it is best to fix your issues with it?

new forum idea isn't bad since it's such a common issue.

though seriously what else is there to talk about.  essentially you're going to end up comparing MMO's, or talking about one specific one in the pub.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

I like the idea. Im jumping around MMO's right now trieng to find something with a good PvP system. With that thread it might be a little more helpful for people like me to just post "Anyone got a good pvp MMO i dont know about?

Is there a way for me to forward this request to an official moderator/adminstrator? They can accept or deny it ..as it is thier site. I was skimming through the sticky posts but could not find who to forward the idea on to.

And don't get your hopes up. Although there have been hundreds of "what mmo" threads, there have been just as many "I hate what mmo" threads.

I agree. A new board called "Looking for game" is needed.

  • crazyivencrazyiven Member Posts: 142

I have no issues about the post. I often read them. If I can help them find their next game so be it. If I remember they post under GENERAL. So that covers a big area of topics, not just the ones certian people want to read or deam should be posted there.

     so get over it

    Thankls Zorvan,

I wont get my hopes up and I wont cry. I think its a good idea for a board. If it happens, then I will have done something to better this site. If not ...such is life.

The board is great, but it would be nice if there were actual new games to look for.
