Hello!
I have recently found in one of my local stores what seems to be old limited edition box set daoc with first 3 expansions in it. All for 9.99$
So, I'm thinking of buying it, and I was wondering will I be able to play the game or do I also need to buy later expansions or do they come for free in form of downloading?

Just so you know, you can download all but the last 2 expansions for free from www.camelotherald.com
The last 2 expansions will cost you money how ever. The ones you download might be more up to date and you might need to patch less. However if you have a slower connection and downloading is not an option then you could consider the box set.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-
If it has the first thee expansions then I assume that means it has SI, ToA, and Catacombs. That is what is free by the trial currently. If you buy it, you will get 30 days free instead of 14. You also won't have to bother with the complications of downloading the trial nor the time involved with it.
The last two expansions, as expansions, are only available for DL and you can purchase them directly from the client.
The best deal, I think, is if you can find the 5th year aniversary collection. It will have all of the expansions and runs around $20. I think if you bought the last two expansions it runs either $20 or $30. I forget, but I do think there is a combo offer.
Good news is that there are no more paid expansions after that. Instead, they offer free content and large changes in game.
