just fun for people with imagination

Hey, just wanna say this is a game that offers you the possibility to play with your imaginaton. Other games give you treasure after long time spent. This game gives you nothing but yourself out in the dark looking for quick story. And for the long run theres the boards going strong with politics. PvP is still the name of the game. Talk before shootings is my interest... shootings happen more often though. :P

I want to come back. I've never played any other game like this one. I played back in the beta days. Though the only things stopping me are: (please correct me if im wrong)

    1. Im an australian and dont want to jump onto a game if there are no players online after i get home from 9 boring hours at work.

    2. Is the lag any better? I have a decent ADSL 2 connection but somehow i couldnt hit anyone... (i do admit i'm a newb and this might be partly my aiming skills) but i seriously doubt one bullet hit them... : (

    3. As far as i know there isnt any 'free trials' so i can test this out.

If im wrong about any of these points by all means correct me, please dont burn me. Even better if there are some other aussies or even NZers playing FOM, i'd be interested in your experience with these problems.

Population is still a problem. Its not dropping nymore though... So for Australians it must be bad i'm sure. The vice president is an australian at this moment. Ask him :P

There are no lag problems atm. Large populations at one spot might cause problems.

Still some time before the free trial is developed. The alien colony is top on the list i think.

Honoustly, I am also more or less waiting for popupulation to rise. The prospects are good. Recent change in comunity manager made a difference. Alien colony will get more subs. And ofcourse the free trial must be the bang.

Yeah i think once they get the trial happening i doubt population will be a problem. I really havent played a game anything like this one. Yes, when i first started playing i got pked a heap of times but after asking around and changing factons i soon realised where the best places to go and not to go.  I think once people realise this they will hopefully enjoy this game as much as i did. I'll keep an eye out for upcoming updates for sure.

    Thanks

Personally, i think FoM was better for the imagination back in early beta when its name wasn't as known. You could wander around with friends and actually have fun in places. Now it seems theres always someone lurking around the corner waiting to blow you a new hole. While i know thats the cause of the game..

I enjoyed taking time in the early beta to go aboard the huge starship and fooling around with friends, ahh.. back when all the door codes were 33333 or 55555 hehe. Good times...

But recently i joined back up, and i found it was full of mindless patrols or gank-fests.. I really hope it doesn't follow a Planetside path (where everyone has a specific weapon, and if you don't have it.. you're screwed.)
