basicly im wondering if i should go back while i wait for AoC. have they fixed alot of the problems?
If so what server is highly populated

I don't know what's different, but it seems laggier to me than it was in April. Also, my sound card drivers no longer want to play ball with the game.
I never really suffered from CTD's all that much in the first place, so I can't say there, but from what I hear in chat, some people have it pretty bad. Supposedly the devs have found the source of the problem with the CTDs caused by a memory leak, and it will be corrected in GU 3 this week/next week.
As far as servers, Xeth is pretty well populated and consistently at Medium, whatever that's worth. Same for Sardon? Sardine? Whatever the other server is, that starts with an S. The pvp server, and... I think it's Hilsbury? are usually listed as Low.
I have seen improved performance, went from ~12 fps at launch to 20+ closer to 30fps now on the same rig. (individual results may vary) I had one crash last night in town when I was getting ready to camp anyhow.
i left in july or so, after around 8-10 days having a free month. game is just problematic for me not somuch crashes as didnt really get any that much, but lag, chunking on my current dual core 8800 system, bugged non functioning quests, floatingh mobs, long traveling (rifts were put in place which is merely a bandaid to the issue as u have to travel to the rift to enable it), corpse runs being a horrific outdated game mechanic, and losing half my level trying to get my corpse. unbalanced classes, crafting being a major tedious bore. many issues were why i left. but yours could be different. i think its a outdated resource bloated game that the promised alot and delivered little. good luck with SOE help recovering this fiasco.
but only way to find out is to pay for a month see what you think, as this merely my opinion and interpretation of the game nothing more.
3.4ghz Phenom II X4 965, 8GB PC12800 DDR3 GSKILL, EVGA 560GTX 2GB OC, 640GB HD SATA II, BFG 1000WATT PSU. MSI NF980-G65 TRI-SLI MOBO.
My performance has steadily improved, due to either Nvidia driver updates, memory leak fixes or both. Not a huge difference, by maybe 10 fps better than launch over all. I've never crashed much. Every now and then I'd have a streak of crashes due to something they did in an update and then later it would be all right.
There have been hundreds of bug fixes, and they got a lot of the big ones fixed.
Since the merges, I think the remaining servers are well populated. Last night I was in different cities doing diplomacy and Leth Nurae, Khal and Martok all maxed out at 40 with the /who.
On top of it all, this week is suppose to bring phase one of Game Update #3 which promises some major game optimization and crash fixes.
Well, I just came back a few weeks ago, and I've been enjoying it more now that the population is stable. I got into a nice guild with really mature nice people who actually help eachother out so that is good.
Though I have been playing a lot less now that Team Fortress 2 is out.
Maybe wait until Game Update 3 is out: the game in its current state is still sub-par for stability and performance, they are working on that, perhaps the next update will actually deliver. Vanguard is fun now, but the crash to desktop memory leaks can get very annoying - even if your system doesn't suffer from them your healer / tank / DPS groupmates may well vanish on you with alarming regularity.
Vanguard is still really incomplete in so many ways - things like the helmet graphics have never worked, Vulmane do not have tails still etc. But it is getting there slowly, and AoC feels a long, long way away right now.
yea jumped in for another peak..
bad with my ne system it felt as it would run worse..
Npc are still waxfigures and everyone got fresh
coloured lashes.
I love the *explorering* there vanguard realy shines, point into a direction an lets see what youll find.
Even some quests are pretty funny, i must
say overall i had more fun in Vanguard then i had
with lotro.
Still solo is not realy an option above lvl 30

i must say after phase 1 implented today its definately worth playing. i play on 3 year old system with a single core, 2 gigs of ram and a 6800 gt and it runs great, twice as well as it did before.
As a volunteer guide with Vanguard right now, I have to say no. It's not worth it. Playing it for free is pretty unbearable; i couldnt imagine paying for it. I really cant
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
If you enjoyed the game play but disliked the bugs, try it again. If you didn't enjoy the game itself no amount of bug fixing is ever going to make it playable for you... it's still the same game. Bug wise though it's getting better slowly.

This kind of says it all for me about how "finished" Vanguard is(n't), from todays long patch notes for GU3:
Fix for a bug that enabled some players to level to 51
I have been a big critic of the lack of performance increases but todays patch really did boost FPS. I was getting 60-70 fps for hours today and 40+ fps in Khal. I did not confirm this on the live server but I have noticed on the test server that the memory leak seems to be just about gone for about the last week or two. I assume that went live as well.
Thats good news, i never really had alot of performance issues with vanguard though.
is there a good site to get info of all classes and spells i cant really find one please post still thinking about joing i NEED a good MMO
tried LOTR just wasnt for me i like pvp and just about everything else eq2 was good but too much pwnage by higher level toons and didnt quite understand the whole trade skill system ummm what else wowo is to easy went back to FFXI it was dead.... just need an MMO to play hopeing vanguard will hold me over
If you are thinking about crafting in Vanguard have a look at http://vanguardcrafters.com/
Ten Ton Hammer has complete spell lists although they are are generally somewhat out of date. TTH is like most Vanguard sites, a poorly run fansite as the people that run it do not play the game. But isn't that the problem with most of the big fansites? They hire people to write that are not gamers and ask them to simply fill space and not write about anything that could be of actual use to anyone. For example TTH spent the first 6 months of release writing guides for level 1-20 (which most people will out level the first week they have the game) mainly because no one at TTH ever got past level 20 in VG in the first 6 months of release. But in all fairness to TTH it is probably the best of the VG non class specific fansites. Which is quite sad. There are many class specific VG sites which are much better so if you can choose a class you can find better information.
