I wouldn't call him a pirate! Smacktalking is for idiots. Nice story you've got there though, good to see you fighting back. A true fighter (be it pirate, anti-pirate or someone who doesn't align themself) doesn't smacktalk, though I do sometimes say that it's been a good fight and then a nice "Bye!".

Im a pirate and the only level of smacktalk I do is to coerse a fight out of people. Other then that its smack free and usually a lot of GF goin around. The -10 scares people away and it takes a bit of work to get them to undock sometimes.

Going to be even harder when Ambulstion comes out.

Piracy is just lowsec pvp, nothing people should hate you for or you should be glorified for. Lowsec is generally more fun if you fly solo, while 0.0 is alot better for gang combat. Just a matter of choice, what pvp do you enjoy?
I wouldn't say low-sec PVP is pirating in general, as pirating can take place everywhere (including empire - providing a war dec is in action). Many PVP corporations are in low sec, but are no way associated as pirates, infact most of them would drop dead with shock if people said they were.
I do agree on the fact that gang combat is mainly in 0.0. It's a lot more organised down there as you actually control systems, so you wont find as much of random people floating around in their ships, like you do in low-sec.
