Well I have to say I liked the game pretty much, but.....when I saw they wanted $30 for the game i just could not bring myself to pay.  I know you get a month free, but still I just could not bring myself to pay $15 for the game.  Something is just missing from the game.  Not sure what it is.  It feels sterile with the environment.  the AI is not that smart and the missions get boring even at 15th level.  It was good to waste time it just needs something and I can not say what.

Like any game cox isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. I enjoy playing, it can became a bit of a grind at times especially if soloing.

That said i'd say that this game has some definite pluses over others, but it also has some negatives

+ One of the best character customisations out there

+ Mostly a pretty good community

+ Ability to either solo or team (some games are limited when it comes to soloing)

    - The AI is pretty average, i've seen more intelligent AI

    - Not so easy to put groups together as other games

Those are just a few of my observations, and only opinion mind you, some will likely disagree

Oh the character customization in the game kick the crap out of most games.  Never saw anyone look the same.  Half the fun of the game was designing your character.  Other games could take a clue from them.  It would be nice to see other game allow you to quest for bonuses to be added to armor than the armor.  Then you could wear what you wanted to.

I pretty much agree with your Observztions except for the last one. PUGs are real easy to set up.

I can alwasy find a PUG, but recruiting... *shudders*

that's usually because I tend to only recruit for a specific mish/TF/thingy, not just regular missions.

When you talk about great "character" customization, are you speaking of the "ship" avatars or of the postage stamp size passport photo of your character?

Are you speaking of CoH or Eve? :)

I'm so sorry, my mistake. I was tired and I thought you were speaking about EVE.

I agree, the best part of CoH/CoV is character creation

Okay talk to me folks.  I'm playing the trial right now, I love the character customization, I've enjoyed the gameplay thus far, but I have some questions.  What is the long term value of this game, is it going to keep me interested for more than a couple months?  I've made my characters on Champion is this a fairly populated server I've seen some people, but I'm in the noob areas I would assume that most people would be elsewhere?  I could really go either way on pvp, so is there any kind of high level raid missions available towards endgame?  Finally is there any real advantage to going hero or villian or is it simply a matter of choice?  I've played pretty much all of NC Soft's games and liked them, but I'm still unsure about this one.

freedom is the most populated server, the trial period is not enough time to fully play out your character, I played the game last year for 3 months and at the end of 3 months I had a level 50 and 36 and felt like it was time to stop playing for a while. There really isn't much to do after you max your character but make a new one or help out other people and teamup/do special events, raids, monsters..etc. I actually want to return to the game again now because I miss the fun of working as a group and the community is awesome.

This game is more about playing alts than endgame. Though there is more endgame now in that the last couple of issues have added stuff for the endgame, such as the statesman taskforce and the ship raid in the ritki war zone. along with a lvl 50 PvP zone.
