I played the trial deleted it in about 2 hours, not fun at all, all these camera problems choppyness for both me and my friend with top of the line computers, to much running around, battles are really boring, just like every other mmo, nothing special I give it a 5/10 if you like to be entertained easily.

I'm so glad I don't base my opinions on games off of just 2 hours of playtime...

Nope, apparently AC2 isn't compatible with my wireless network. If I ran network cable from the router to this computer it would work fine, but well, thats the reason I set my network up wireless in the first place, I don't WANT to do that. And with 2 lil boys, 3 and 5 years old running all over the house, network cable from one end to the other wouldn't work anyway.
I could play it on one of the other computers on the network, but those are for the wife and kids, and aren't exactly gaming machines.

As for not liking the game, I agree, the first time I tried it I played for 10 minutes and hated it. The way the camera moves around, the movement, the combat, the interface, the looting, everything was awkward to me somehow. I stuck with it for a while though, I asked on general chat if any alliegances were recruiting and I found a nice guild to join, I met some really friendly and helpful people in the New Arwic Mines quest, and now I kinda like the game. I can see it getting old quickly though, it's a twist on the typical level grind where it is driven by quests rather than camping in a dungeon and just killing, and crafting is integrated into the quests and will help you level. Interesting, but I don't know how much more of it I can take.

Ah blast, maybe if you would have played for 2 hours and 45 minutes you would have been hooked! DOH!! I'm telling you, after 3 hours and 24 minutes you will be totally sold on this game, I swear on my cloned great grandchildren!

I didnt like it either at first, the initial reaction to the world, combat, looting, questing, chat, etc. was unfavorable. Then I met my patron. He guided me through some difficult quests, helped me with crafted armor and weapons, and answered all my questions about the game. He suggested ways to setup my UI to better see the different gloabal and area chats, skills that would be more effective, where to spend xp, etc. Once I joined the guild everyone was fired up that I was new and they all went out of their way to help me.
That was the first week in April 2003. I am now the Monarch of my guild, and I model my patronage after my former mentor, and we emphasize a team atmosphere with the xp grind as secondary. We quest, hunt, craft, laugh and poke fun, dance, take odd pictures(screencaps) etc. My main is a lvl 58 Berzerker and is the most fun class in the game IMO. All I can do is hope that people who try the 15-day trial find a good guild to join, and make every attempt to be a self sufficient player who wants to learn and have fun. Do not ask for everything on a silver platter. It is much more rewarding to fight and achieve things on your own, and occasionally team up with people of your own level range to accomplish your short term goals. Getting help from the high level players in your guild is necessary in many situations, but overall you should strive to be someone who people respect in the community and look for to join them when they are doing a quest or fellow hunt.
Asheron's Call 2 Fallen Kings is a very fun game with an excellent community of MMO players. I will play until they shut it down.

No, has nothign to do with the firewall, it's just the wireless aspect of it. It works fine from any of the computers which are connected to the exact same router and network via network cable. Just doesn't work on my gaming computer, which is connected wirelessly.

HmMmM, I need to try that one one of my wireless machines just to see if I have the same problem.

I turned off all other background applications and then, after server select screen, disabled music (not audio, I like hearing them whine "HEAL MEH!") and lowered the graphic setting one notch to medium and I run well now with a p4 1700 and 512 ram.
I'm not exactly sure how in the world you can say the combat is boring.... The combat is one of the most fast paced and unboring combat system that i've ever played in a MMORPG. Perhaps when you are level 3, and don't get too many fancy skills, it might not be the most graphically fantastic thing ever, but it dramatically buries any other game.
Playing an MMORPG for 2 hours and saying you think it sucks, is like trying to learn how to play the guitar in 2 hours and saying it sucks. You have to strum it a little and get some experience to really find the joy in it...

I thought it was ok, the 2 things that really put me off the game thoo were
1. Were the fuck are the npc's? I havent seen any NPC merchants int he entire game so far.
2. Community? Bah the only time i ever see any players is when there stealing my kills.

Man I soooo didn't give this game 2 hours. I didn't give it 20 minutes. I HATED the interface, who makes a game where you cant use the mouse in look mode? The print on the chat screen was to small to read, the directions were long and unclear. The icond where to small. The graphics were a joke...wow it was like something I would expect to play in the early 80's.
I couldn't get past how awkward the game was to attempt to see if the content was any good (I've played a half a dozen other MMOGs and never had that problem before). Wasn't even worth down loading IMO.
I'm not meaning to bash on anyones game. It's just my reveiw for anyone who might care.
I have a pretty good comp. with a geo 4 vid card. 768 MEM 1.8 proc. Keep my comp very clean (just formatted a couple of months ago) The game suggested I use the medium setting so thats what I did. Although, the last two MMOGS i've played have been SWG and City of heroes...which both have really good graphics. So maybe I was just expecting to much or maybe it just wasn't good to me, but it reminded me of the older ultima games (which I never had a problem with but compared to the newer engines I just expect more I guess). Which if the content of a game is good the graphics for me really isn't a big deal. But, a game has to interface well...that's number one on my list and I did l;ook under the options for control options.
The crafting system and the skill trees really attracted me, but walk, pivot, walk would just drive me insane.
