I think acoyltes look like easily the best aoc guild. (couldn't see your thread on the official forums). but the whole pking people for reasons i don't understand this? what reason would you pvp vs someone (PK) other than that they are not on your team? care to elaborate o this idea. i also think it contracts with the whole playing the game true to REH's vision since it doesn't sound very brutal to me. sounds like if i join i won't be allowed to pvp (crazy since you pick a pvp server). we just wait until somebody gets offended then get them. sounds real dull tbh. why is pking wrong its what pvp means, its what the game is about killing people. might aswell ban weapons aswell

When I was writing that I was thinking to myself that I want the Acolytes to be a respected and well known guild for the quality members that are within in it. I don't see a need to randomly run around and kill the first person you see without even knowing who it is. We will have allies and we will probably have more enemies. For some reason I think people are taking that as you can't attack anyone unless they hit you first. If someone is coming at you or gives you the vibe that they are going to harm you then you better damn well do what you need to protect yourself!
Of course we are going to have small/large group or groups that want to pvp for the night and that is fine as long as who you are killing is not an ally and it would be even better if it had somewhat of a purpose like hitting someone's resource spots which would constitute as an objective. There are also going to be the king of the hill pvp games and others and we don't care who you kill in those because the whole purpose of those is to pvp. I think for some reason people are worrying that if we can't just run around and kill every person we see then the game is not going to be any fun for them. I can gaurentee you that there will be plenty of people for us to kill pretty much whenever we want if we choose to do so. It is the nature of the beast on a pvp server, people are going to be dicks and gang up on people 3 on 1 just because they can. So I don't think it will take very long for us to assemble a good sized KOS list. There will be guilds that are killing everyone in sight just because they can. I don't want to be the guild that kills this one guy that is out somewhere harvesting ore for himself or his guild just because he is all alone and is an easy kill. I know this is a long post, but I just wanted to try and clear things up for everyone that we are not going to kill everyone just because we can, but I am not worried that we are going to be some pansies sitting around for someone to attack us first. We are going to be an aggresive guild and we will not let other guilds get in the way of our objectives. If we stick to our plan then you will be amazed at how many players and other guilds will respect us because we are not one of those guilds that kills the one guy harvesting ore just because he is an easy kill."

Nice site, seems like you've got things pretty well organized. I considered applying (I certainly fit the category of mature...at least in age) however I'm part of a father-son duo and he's only 14. (and unfortunately, far better at PVPing than I am).

You should definatley keep us in mind Kyleran, we have a few father / son - father / daughter duo's and our oldest member is 66! we have a nice broad spectrum of similar minded folks.
Right now we are mingling with our Allies and getting to know them better, and I must say they are all a nice bunch too.

They are a great bunch of guys over @ the Acolytes. Avery, Nagoth, Redruum, Skullcrusher, Drakus, Ksberge, and most of the other are really, really great people. Matter of fact, I'll be down in Austin in the near future and I'll be visiting one of their leaders. Just one word of caution. Don't mention taxes or show discontent for anything they suggest or you will get on Rocc's bad side. Trust me, no one wants to be on his bad side. With guilds that big, not everyone can get along.
Saying that, I stopped following the game and resigned from the Acolytes. Recently, I started following the game again. I do keep in touch with serveral of the Acolytes. I even asked the guild leader to let me back in. He said they voted and I lost the vote. Just goes to show you, people don't like others that like to rock the boat. I respect the vote.
With the full loot on the RPvP ruleset servers I would have quit the guild anyway because I don't believe in it. In that respect, I'm glad they didn't let me back in. Who knows, I may make a secret toon in a mercenary guild and keep my foot down on three of the Acolytes.
I highly recommend applying with the Acolytes. They have more to offer than most the other guilds out there.

Love everything I have read and heard about the guild. Mature, organized guilds with solid leadership suit my taste just fine.
