How do you like to gear your characters?

Are you a type of player who likes to go for as much + to damage as possible?

Maybe you like to get as much regen as possible?

Are you the survivalist and go for + HP and armor?

Do you go for the balance of all things?

How do you tend to gear your characters? Tell us what Career you will be playing and tell us why you want to gear them the way you do.

Personally, I will be playing the Magus. I will be going for as much + Damage as possible. After that I want gear that will lower enemies chance to crit me and then after that I would go for +HP gear.

I like to group PvP so I would like to not get hit so much in a big raid but if I did, I would like to not get crit more than anything. Getting crit is what kills casters more than anything.

What about you all?

Looking at chosen or Kotbs personally, from the descriptions they sound like the type of style (twisting) with my favorite class style(tank/buffer/debuffer)

Since I dont know how stats work I cant really be specific but I can say whatever makes me last longer. I like fights that take as long as possible, survive and wait for a mistake and crush the guy. I think this is much more fun over the HAHA I did more DPS then you I WIN! type of gameplay.

I play a paladin in WoW and my Bard in EQ was a master of outlasting, that is if I had room to run.

That is an awesome theory! I love doing threads like this to see the different playstyles of the forum community.

I do not know enough about stats and abilities to make a call on that just yet, but overall I tend to max buff any stats that directly affect Defense and Offense.

I wouldn't be looking for merely +damage or +crit buffing -- although some of that, in balance, is okay.

Rather, I would tend to make a character of any class that would be able to dish out damage yet be tough enough to have the ability to survive long fights.

Part of that is done with proper stat buffing and good items, and another part is moving into and out of danger as quickly as possible.

Well as posted on previous threads I am leaning towards a Black Guard.   I like the melee combat bash and crash style of play, especially when getting used to a game, this way you get involved in the thick of the battle at the front line and so get a better feel of the mechanics involved.   Black guards will be a nice mix of thick armour (ergo nice survivability) and nice dps.   From what i;ve read I get the impression they are tanks with damage....

Branching out into spells or ranged attacks then I may be tempted to go for a Bright Wizard but for sheer coolness I'm tempted to try a Witch hunter, (but i'm determined not to get sidetracked too much at first and make sure i've got myself a nice high level guy frist before branchign out and trying others...)

Does anyone else get the feelign that there will be a massive influx of WoW kiddies looking at Squig herders as an alt to a huntard?  Sure they'll be really disappointed that it won't be a no-talent brainless class in this game (at least we all hope so)...

    Actually ... yes.

But on the bright side, I think by playing Order I will find that I have a target-rich environment!

I got no idea what i ll be playing as my main... But i always end up playing style games in every game the oppurtinity arises lol

So i ll probably end up using the most bad-ass visually equipment, wether it will be dmg, offence, regen w/e i dont care

I will be playing all classes because I plan to stay a long time.

But the first char I will roll will be a Blackguard. And I will go for a nasty heavy-as-can-be armor / damage output mixture.

I want to be like a Stonewall for my comrades. Where this Blackguard will be planted in combat, there will be no advance for the enemy.

I will probably roll a black guard as my first character. I love casters but I really want to try a tank class and the black guard sounds so much like me...hates everything wants to kill stuff, stab peoples faces, etc.

As for a build I really want to look at what there is to offer. My friend will be rolling a healer so as a team we will be pretty tough to kill. Depending on the different skills, abilities, moral, tanking mechanics. I will probably go towards damage gear/skills. However the ability to take on 5 people at once and keep going for a fairly long time appeals to me as well.  I guess it will depend on how much damage they can already do. I mean I don't want to be near invincible and not be able to kill things. I also don't want to be a tanker that does mad DPS but drops dead pretty quick.

You make me laugh SykoMyke. Anybody here could see this was just a discussion about gear to give us something to talk about because with the beta pushback there has been less and less to talk about. It seems you just have a personal vendetta with anybody who posts from my guild because you do not like the way we handle applications ( aka we denied you ).

Did anybody here state they were uber pwner with over 60k kills, no? So where do you get the statement that I need gear and have no skill? It was just a discussion. Relax.

I don't think this argument needs to go any further it makes both of our guilds look bad. You and I both know whats up. Also on your crusade to say I have no skill, why would you post in the other active thread that in 2 on 1, the 2 always wins? A player with skill can kill two players.

Because we are assuming that all 3 players (2v1) have the same amount of skill....It's called setting a controlling factor.  It's something scientists do when they test something.  They only test ONE variable.  In this case we are going to assume that all 3 people are equally geared and equally knowledgable about their class.  In that case 2 people will kill 1.  When discussing things like this unless you want to talk about skill differences most people assume that the only defining variable is the number.

And what did my post in the other have anything to do with this?

Because you did not specify in the other thread that all players we equal skill. You just wrote " of course 2 vs 1 will win" or something along those lines. The reason I brought it up in here is because you claimed I had no skill but act as if 2v1 is impossible for the one. Also, everything has relevance as you had nothing to add to this discussion, it was a simple question of how do you like to gear your character, and instead of answering the question you turned it into another one of your rude posts. And this time, in this thread, it had nothing to do with the question at hand.

Question: How do you like to gear your characters?

Your answer: This isn't wow you no skilled nubsauce! WoW forums is thataway --->

    See?
