Age of Conan Role Playing Guild

"The Hour of the Gods are upon the lands of Stygia." The lithe form of the woman standing before the mass pauses. She raises her hands over her head, reaching into the heavens. Beginning to speak once more in her soft yet far reaching voice, her arms drop back to her side.
"That of which once was shall always be." Pausing again, the milky skinned Stygian woman turned her focus on another part of the crowd. Her eyes meeting the eyes of the faithful within the room.
"The knowledge can be stolen from your memories but it us, the faithful few, who will persevere and protect the knowledge." Her charcoal black eyes scan the assembly slowly. With the simple grace of a soft evening desert breeze she lifts her inked left hand forward towards the crowd and slides it across the the air horizontally, allowing it to pass by many people before laying her slender arm back to her side.
"Almighty Set demands of us to raise his Pantheon back into existence among the living in these desert sands. To have his mighty servants back at his side, respected and nourished to help in his bidding." Ashaka's voice grows louder but no less luxurious to the ears of those who behold her words.
"We scour the land for the knowledge for safe keeping. If we must travel into the depths of every catacomb, every tomb, every building laid to ruin...we will! It is what has been demanded of us. If we must travel across the frozen tundras, the jungles, through great mountain passes, through rivers and seas...we will! It is our fate. If we come across hostiles or the nonbelievers and are forced to fight...we will! It is our destiny." The scantily clad woman of great beauty and grace leans forward, her eyes showing great pride, her lips soft yet pushing out words like the flicker of a great serpents tongue, eyed the masses.
"There are those of you among us today that would find your paths intersecting with that of ours. You have choices to make. You may join our cause and fight for our cause, you may choose to fight us, father Set and his Pantheon or to simply let us each pass one another in peace." As the words were spoken, her soothing voice settles into a softer tone.
"I am Ashaka. I come before you now to tell you that once was thriving and turned into ruins is once again being rebuilt in the name of Set and his Pantheon. The glory of what once was is being restored. The prophecies have been laid out before me and for all that is Set I follow. For those of you who wish to walk this path with me, come to me...you shall be tested by father Set himself. If you are found worthy you will find your home among other like minded Stygians. If you are not found worthy...you will not be allowed entrance to the temple." She steps away from where she was standing, as if to walk away but turns again to the crowd.
"For all that is Set, for the knowledge...we shall not fail in the mighty fathers eyes. You shall surely see me again." With that she nods slowly to the crowd and turns to walk out the door and disappears down the hall.
Hour of the Gods
Our foundation of who we are is built upon prophecy and lore taken from both the Conan books and Ancient Egyptian history. We take our lore very seriously and nothing is submitted to the final codex of the guild without extensive research. Our main goals for the Hour of the Gods is the building of Wesheb, a city which will function as a religious seat of power and influence for the Stygian people. However, we intend on taking full advantage of the game content Age of Conan has to offer, with scales specialising in PvE, PvP, and the various Crafting trades. Indeed, the very foundation of the Hour of the Gods relies upon the building of our player city, Wesheb, which we hope will become a major roleplaying "hub" for all those who are devout in the worship of Set and his Pantheon. As a result, every action we perform in Age of Conan; hunting, raiding, fighting against other factions, crafting, and creating, will have a firm basis in our roleplayed storyline. We will not merely be a guild "sitting around and talking". We will be combining action with storyline to create a fully immersive experience, and intend on allying with any similarly minded roleplaying guild, whether as friends or as foes, to further enrich the roleplaying experience on a PvE server.
We are firm believers that those with an interest in role play will find a happy home in our dark and mature guild. We believe that all our members are integral to who we are regardless of if they are casual or hard core, regardless if they have a lot of time or a little, regardless if they enjoy PvP or PvE. As long as your focus is in line with ours in role play, you will be a part of our community, adding to the success of our community.
This guild will find itself on a US server. However, we do accept members from all over the world as long as they meet the requirements of admission and understand our server choice. We are not recruiting for quantity, nor for body count. We wish to be known for our story lines, the beauty of the city we have created, the authenticity of our lore, and the ceremonies and full role playing experience we can provide. We are creating this sort of role playing guild not only to enjoy ourselves, but also to benefit the role playing community as a whole.

Thank you AmazingAvery. Very good to see The Acolytes wandering around here. I am very familiar with all the guilds in The Hyborian Accord as I was previously a Council member in one of them before I chose to walk a different path. Perhaps you remember Ashaka from Hand of Set?

Yep your name is very familiar, I've read lots of your posts before
oh you dont have to use the "amazing" part! name is just after my guild wars character, wish I could edit it now.
I think the Hour of the Gods has a great backstory, interested people have a great opportunity to help shape the foundations here and stand the HotG's in good stead for release!

Just an update,
Out numbers are growing and the amount and quality of RP is amazing.
We are already at planning stages for events in forum and in game. Seems like we will have plenty of activities to keep all kinds of RP'ers happy.
..and i would like to extend my thanks to those visitors who have wandered into our city to have a look.
