Nah they just remind me of 8 year olds, the way they type, the errors (they are extreme), and just the way everybody acts, it just seemed like there were a lot more older people playing WoW and FFXI etc.
I bet I know what the problem is. You can't judge the population of the game based on the broadcasters in Atlas and Peregrine Island. The majority of the people in those zones are either, A: Noobs looking for influence handouts or B: Noobs looking to get powerleveled.
My advice, get out of Atlas and just ignore the idiots in PI. I personally avoid the Hollows as well. I never seem to be able to find a competent team in there that will stick together.
Nah I noticed the total opposite, ex-wow players always told me they loved it, but as previous posts imply you should probably level a bit. Once your out of AP or the hollows you should get a feel of the real game. Getting to 15 or 20 should allow you to see the real population fairly clearly. Free trialers tend not to level that high on their own.

I think some of it is the fact that the worse the group is, the more the memory sticks with you, whereas average groups tend to be pretty forgettable. The first team I was in yesterday blamed me for everything from group wipes to the color of their own costumes, I'm guessing because I had the "tanker" emblem next to my name; I've made mistakes before and I'll make them again, but I was playing like a champion at the time.
Three missions in, and I was pretty sure I was done with the game entirely and was seriously considering life as a hermit. Humanity was evil, society was crumbling around me, and I wasn't sure I even liked my dog anymore. I quit the group, soloed for awhile, then turned my "Looking for Any" tag back on. By the end of the day, I'd teamed to gain three levels and everything had gone like clockwork. My faith in humanity was restored, and I was trying to unload that secluded cabin in the woods I'd bought.
It's all about the people. They're the very worst and the very best of what every MMO has to offer, and there's no guarantee you're going to get the good all the time, regardless of the game you're playing.
"it just seemed like there were a lot more older people playing WoW"
You're kidding, right?
Proof that the OP is trolling
your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't
The OP seems to be a troll or just an NCSoft hater. I've found that CoX probably has one of the best communities in all of the MMO's I've played. I see many player-run events going on both the servers I play on. Not to mention people are helpful with advice and such and occasionally even with Inf. I know myself I've paid lowbies 50k Infamy each to join my team so I could increase the mob count before I zone in. Masterminds needs a challenge ya know.

Ooh, good thought. Yeah that would lower your opinion. Also it varies from server to server - my original home base server (Pinnacle) apparently became a magnet for attention whores, and badge channels became overrun with misspelled cybersex, etc. But I digress.
My informal surveys have always shown a user base that is much older than you'd think. I've been on plenty of teams where, at 30 I was the youngest - which sure surprised me. Which is not to say young people don't play it, but the ratio is no where near like WoW.
If you want to avoid a teen crowd, avoid a pickup group at around 3-4pm. Or 11am in the summer. Of course I don't know why you would, but let's just say I learned that from the occasional "too sick to work, but not to fight crime" day.
I've been playing CoX for quite a while (33 month vet) and have found the community to be the most helpful and kind of any MMO I have played (too many to count). I have also played WoW (lvl 70 Shaman on Gorefiend) for sometime, too. I can't say the same for that community.
I must agree with others. Very helpful, fairly respectful. Not the best RP group I've found, but then again, SWG spoiled me, until everyone with skill left. If the way people act bothers you, so much, OP, simply....solo. That is what I do, most of the time, whether the community is a good one or not.
Anyone else notice how incredibly stupid and immature the CoH/CoV community is?
I have no idea what you're saying here. Many people on CoX have been supportave and informative. And just in case it's one of those "GOTCH YA!" type post. I am always happy to post about the great people that play CoX! !

No Clue as to what you are talking about. the people that i have met are some of the most helpfull and kind people I have met in any game.
same here, pretty much all the cox players i've met have been nice and good team players
I agree with the other replies; all COXers I met have been very nice and chill, especially for the MMO community.

The OP must be trolling. I found the COX community to be the nicest, most mature community I've experienced in an MMO.

The majority of the people there are also Trial peeps. Free = Children. Get to the higher levels and you'll find the true players.

The starter areas can be a bit overbearing. The higher you get the better the community gets.
I've always found players to be very helpful and generous.
Get into a well run, active SG. You may have to try a few to find the ight one but it will make a huge difference.
