I used a sneakemail.com address when I signed up to mmorpg.com. It's the only place I've ever used that particular address. Today I've started receiving spam through that address. Luckily I can just delete the address to stop it.
How's that happened?

btw I don't need any more viagra
All I can say is OUCH. I have a separate email address just for this type of problem. I have one for trials I sign up for and another address for forums I want to join.
I feel your pain!
Happened to me too, I just got my $15 in the mail for the sale, along with a certification for VCR Repair, I got my GED now!
Serious though you don't know for sure that it was MMORPG, spammers have their ways.
EDIT: Just incase you couldn't tell MMORPG didn't sell my E-Mail adress.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit
Why blame mmorpg.com for your own negligence?
Hide your email address in your profile, before you start throwing blame.
Yeam its always good to have a junk email account for....well, junk. Hotmail is a good place to snag a quick one.

We're not selling addresses, they're finding them via profiles or sending to username@mmorpg.com addresses I know it sucks, but there's little we can do.

Haha that was the first thing I did, click on the guys profile and...TADA, theres his email.
Oh well that explains that. But damn guys... I hope that now defaults to "hide" for new accounts.
Just go into your profile under options and look below the entry box for your e-mail address.
It doesn't hide it by default, but it's not hard to change.
Someone offered me a cup of cold day-old coffee and an only slightly expired Ring DIng for your address, man. Hope you don't mind.
Taera, maybe Skywiseknight or one of the others could make it hide the e-mails by default. Won't stop the @mmorpg.com spamming, but it'll cut down a little on the personal spam, especially for those who register but don't know to hide theirs.
Well tbh even the @mmorpg.com addresses could be optional.
It's not really meant to be used as a main e-mail addy, it's main function is for private messages from other members, as well as a second address in addition to your main for staff to message you for contests, ban notices, etc.
If you're using it for general e-mail, then all you can do is sift through the mails.
If not, then it's fairly easy to look at the message to see if it's from staff or members since they are usually sent from a @mmorpg.com address as well.
