lag and disconnecting issues

i got my beta key today, and after having installed the game find it rather unplayable.
i disconnect every 5 minutes orso, and have terrible lag, is everyone suffering from this? or any solutions on how to fix it?
I use a mac mini (10.4) with 512 ram and ati radeon 9200 graphics card.
I have updated everything i can think of updating, and still no better...
help please! ;-)

its server issues...i hardly ever disconnect...although i do lag a bit, but actually, i find the game rather enjoyable!
i do i diconnect whenever i do somthing interesting and it lags every 5 minutes plus the ocean looks dodgey whenever i sail it (it lags most when i sail)

Everyone is having the same problems your are, so don't feel like your alone in this!
btw, do I have to remind you that its STILL in beta phase, and not complete yet?
